Last minute MDW advice from a host

This is more of a last minute reminder than groundbreaking information.

Things I know to be true:

Table reservations at the Palms are filling up; Table reservations at every other venue in town are filling up (if they're not already full). The talent this year at every venue is ridiculous.

Every year on Thursday and early Friday there is a frantic push to make reservations and a lot of people get shut out or end up paying triple or more what they would have if they got their reservation in early with a credit card authorization.

It's time to check out the Host appreciation thread and holler at the hosts from your venue of choice, make a commitment and lock down a table for your group.

good advice..

other things to consider..

arrive early
leave the sneakers and t's at the hotel
if your partying all day at the pools, and you have cc auths for night, dont get so trashed you cant make your reso ..

drink water, eat food

guestlist isnt really an option for guys, so if you are here with a herd of dudes, dont walk up together, break up, find girls ect..

be curteous to the door staff, this is a very stressfull weekend for all those who are in this industry, alot of people are in town, spending alot of money, and the staff has to deal with them all. so things may take a tad longer, bite your tounge and realize thiz b4 you mouth off to the wrong person and it couild potentially ruin your day/night

dont walk up expecting a deal with no reservation in the books, it wont happen.. call ahead, no later than tomorrow by 5 and hope tables are still aavailable at your preferred place..

dont go to jail, tuesday is a long way away.. lol

Just an FYI, every meeting ive had this week, our managers have told us to increase the minimums. I bet tomorrow is going to be even worse OR SOLD OUT.

Get there early.

Inquire with a host about getting on a guest list with a linepass. You will still wait in line, but probably for less time.

Monetary persuasion.

If a host puts you on a guest list, it works out well and you don't see them during your trip- blow them up a little bit and be vocal about them helping you. If I had to choose between this and a tip, I'd choose this more often than one may think.

Ugh!! 3 of my friends got cheap on us and decided bottle service was too pricey this weekend!!! We had bottle service lined up @XS but now there is only 7 of us and 4 bottles @XS is a little too much for us! So now the 7 of us are left out in the cold! Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what to do for a group of 7 for this Saturday? (3 girls, 4 guys) Any advice is appreciated!

Also I would like to point out that the OP was smart on putting in the thread title that he needed help from a host. It makes it easier for the actual hosts to find.

The advice was from ME: A HOST! Not needed by a host!

But I agree- it is helpful for people needing a host to throw it in the title.

And ready4whatever, in a similar vein to Donnie and Anthony- holler at me if you want to do any of the Palms venues (Rain, Moon, Ghostbar, Playboy). I can set your group up with a nice lower min and we have tons of talent at each venue (yelawolf, oakenfold, kid dj, klever and kayper, etc).
