  • MDW prices on the Tropican

I'm gonna be in Vegas MDW. I booked a room at PH for $775 for 4 nights. I just noticed the Trop had a 12 hour sale for $75 a night and even after the 12 hr sale ended it is currently only $81 a night. This is cheaper than Hooters and Circus-Circus.

I've been to Vegas before but never stayed in the trop (stayed at MGM, Harrahs, and Caesars). How is the trop? I know they re-did it and Nikki beach is opening MDW. Is this gonna be a decent/young/party crowd. Is it worth saving the $400 and cancelling PH to stay at the Trop? It scares me that it is so cheap. I know that sounds weird but no way the trop should be less than Hooters.

I stayed there recently and the newly remodelled rooms are pretty good. They're probably the best standard rooms in Vegas.

As for the crowd, I believe they're trying to attract the younger crowd with Nikki beach and when I was there last time, there were quite a few drunk, obnoxious people that look like they just finished visiting LAX. For the price, it really can't be beat and you should definitely rebook.

+1. Friends of mine just left Vegas and they stayed at the Tropicana and LOVED it, they said the rooms are really nice and they have a nice pool area as well. It seems like a really great value and worth the $400 savings!

Yeah, I've been hearing it is really nice with the new remodel. But I just can't fathom why it's so cheap. Like I said it is currently cheaper than hooters. I hope it's not too good to be true.

I just checked this morning and the trop is up to $266 a night, up almost $100 a night from when I booked. I guess I just don't understand the ups and downs of vegas hotel prices. We'll keep our reservation at the trop and cancel PH.

Stayed there Thursday night and aside from Vegas.com screwing up my reservation initially and the room not getting Versus (listed on channel guide, but instead of hockey, I got the Food Network), it's great. Nothing fancy, but clean, very spacious, much better than it used to be, and definitely a great value at the cheap prices.

I didn't spend much time in the casino, but the crowd seemed like the usual mix of young and old you encounter at a lot of the other casinos.

Staying there from Tuesday next week for 5 nights, getting great reviews on tripadvisor and can't wait.

My opinion on pricing is they are having to work hard to get over the "out dated" reputation and attract people back.

We are paying about $1100 for 3 rooms for 3 nights between 6 of us, I think that swung it for my boys when I was looking at hotels.
