When do you decide to walk away?

I walk away when I have no more chips left. A sad but honest truth. I can never walk away when I'm up.

I usually buy in with half of what I’ve got to spend. I walk away if I double my buy in. if I lose my buy in, I buy in with the second half and try and get back half of what I lost before walking away.

Example, if I’ve got 2k, I buy in for 1k and walk if I get up to 2. If I lose my first buy-in, I spend the second 1,000 and walk away if I get to 1,500

With my ususal craps strategy its $100/$150 buy-in (on a $5 table)... I will play until its gone (has never happened)... and if I'm winning, every time I get up $50 I put that in my pocket until my seed money is accounted for.

So lets say I'm at $200 - I'll put $100 in my pocket - DO NOT TOUCH money - play with the other $100, if that gets to $150, I pocket another $50. I like to keep the seed money amount consistent but no more - and when that is gone, I'm done... with a pocket full of winnings.

To this date between this and my betting strategy I've never walked away a loser.... left the table even (lost casino money) ... but seed money is always left.

When playing craps (my game of choice) I like to start with about $100 on a $5 table and will stretch that out looking for good shooters (i.e. those that know what to do with the dice).

As I start winning and get up at least $50 or so, I will begin pocketing a few chips here and there to 'pay the light bill' or 'buy momma some new shoes' with. I stay disciplined to NOT touch that money under any circumstances, especially if early in the trip. That way I have something to fall back on later.

For Blackjack: Usually play this with the wife, and we both typically walk away when a sh!tty dealer comes around...i.e. the ones that are smug, or bitchy, or grouchy with giving advice.
