ID for bars and nightclubs

Heading to Vegas soon for a week and just wondering what forms of ID are accepted in clubs? From Ireland, so was wondering would a student ID suffice or do you need a passport or drivers license?

Passport or Driver's License, or other government issued ID (You can typically get a non-driver's ID.)

A student ID will almost certainly be rejected, since they are so easily faked.

+1. When I was in Florida, the security at the Coyote Ugly there told me that technically they didn't have to honour my drivers licence and that the only ID they could accept was a passport.

But, he allowed it as he recognized Canadian drivers licences.

Some bars/clubs/restaurants even have books to compare what different states and provinces as government identification.

& definitely, an ISIC card won't work. I found those to be a joke.

Agree, easy to loose it in a party night.

im a little worried because my goverment id doesnt have the birth date specified, it´s worked in on the id number but i dont think people there will belive it.

Keep your passport in a safe place...best not to bring it out with you.

Yeah, well, I never had any issues before with my drivers licence but since it's my first time clubbing in Vegas, I don't know.

I had no problems at all in vegas with my Australian drivers licence, you will be fine, even my mate who looks 12 was never asked for any other I.D... amazingly it was when I was down in Huntington beach when i started having problems.

FCG: Las Vegas doesn't seem to have problems with Canadian drivers licences. I think this may be because it's a tourist city so they're used to seeing our identification.

Yeah but being from Quebec and our driver's licence are in French, I think it might be tricky.
