Okay I just love everything Las Vegas is and stands for, so much I have always considered moving there, now I think I am ready to just do it. I was hoping to get some inside tracks on jobs in Vegas. I know the unemployment rate is despicable and the housing market is downright laughable, but its got to come back sometime right? I mean people still pour into the city and drop their life savings every Friday night? Anyways, I am a hospitality major and enjoy working in hotels, of course I would love to be a Valet or Bellman. Its just what I am good at, but I know those jobs don't grow on trees and am really willing to be creative on jobs until I could land that kind of career money. So any of you Vegas locals have any ideas of jobs I that someone with my background in hospitality that would be available in the city now? I mean I am interested in promoting/hosting in the club scene but it would take some time to transition me. I know this sounds a little bit random, or even pathetic, but I am in dire need of a job change, and Vegas might just be perfect for me. So hoping to find a little local love on my favorite LV site! Thanks guys/gals!

unemployment in vegas is high but there are lots of people there making serious $$$! a firend of mine is a host at one of the tier 1 clubs and he's a serious baller.

And those jobs just open their legs wide... There's high unemployment everywhere with equal amounts of "ballers" sitting on the same county line.

Good luck with this; I've had quiet a few friends head out there on a whim thinking that weekend high is going to last and life will be easy. Unlike them make sure your ticket's round-trip.

I thought about moving there too, did a little bit of apt searching. Housing is cheap. You can share a room in a house for 400$. Go on craigslist. Apts were 7-800$.

I wouldnt just move, Id make a trip first and land a job.

I need to come to my senses, making 40k a year, I wouldnt last that long partying it every weekend. Need to get smarter so I can make 100k first!!!!!
