10 Kiwi's hitting Vegas - June 30 to July 7

For those that might be asking 'what's a Kiwi?' It's a New Zealander. We're a country of 4.5 million people in the bottom of the south pacific. (I know what you're thinking, yep, they filmed Lord of the Rings there and it's where Flight of the Concords are from, next to Australia)

To sum it up, our attitudes to partying are similar to the Brits and Aussies but don't worry, we can hold our liquor a little better than the Aussies and a lot better than the Brits.

I'm not the main party planner but I'm killing a lot of time at work checking out the forums here so I thought I'd say hello all the same. There's some great stuff on here so I'm doing a bit of research and passing it all on. A few of the other lads have been checking the place out so they might say hello in here too or take the piss out of me for starting this thread in private.

I'm still waiting to hear the group's consensus on a few things but early indications are that we'll be doing 2 or 3 nights of table service and I'm pushing for a pool party as well so it might be 2 nights of table service and one cabana day.

I'll be looking for a few good bar nights to break up those big spending club nights as well. I'd better knock it on the head here as this is quite the long winded greeting and I'm sure I'll start specific threads for pool party questions and the like.

Sweet as, we've heard good things about your wristbands so you might hear from us, or we might just go through a ticket website that someone linked to in a trip report thread.

I'm not sure if a Hobbit will fit in the suitcase but I'll have a word to a couple of the shorter dudes on the trip and see if they'll dress up for drinks. Hobbit attire cool with your dress codes?

Also, I can see everyone is getting hyped for Memorial day weekend, is that a good indicator of what Vegas will be like on the 4th of July and weekend leading up to the day?

I mean that in terms of how busy it will be and the extra cost of being in town for a holiday weekend.

I am going out to sin city from the 29th June to the 6th July with 4 other guys all from England. We can't wait to get out there and party hard!

Tentative schedule for clubs:

Weds - Surrender
thurs - Tao
Fri - Palms (wristband)
Sat - ?

Mon - Marquee
Tue - Lavo

XS seems the obvious choice for sat but not sure our budget can stretch to it and its July 4th weekend which adds to the costs.

It would be good to get in contact with anyone going out at a similar time!

At about 2 in the afternoon. Which means we will have been up a good while by the time we get to surrender with the 10 hour flight from the uk! Just have to get on the vodka redbulls!

You guys might want to consider doing bottle service instead of the bracelets. It seems like it's going to cost close to the same amount of what you guys are going to pay anyways and the added benefits are more or less priceless, even more so on a Friday.

-Each bottle is going to be around $500-550 and will include mixers, some redbulls and water.
-You will get VIP entry to all of our clubs that night.
-You get your own spot in whatever club you choose to do bottle service.
-At the Palms when you book a table it's yours for the night, unlike a lot of clubs. So even if you guys finish your bottles early and still want your table it's yours. If you guys drink half a bottle and want to go check out another club, your server will hold your bottle for you until you get back.

If you're doing the bracelets that just grant you entry to all of the clubs that's already $70+ without the cost of drinks factored in. If you do the hosted bar that's already $140+ and only gets you drinks from one club from 10-1.
For a lot of people the bracelets are awesome, but in your situation I would consider talking to your mates and making sure you make the right choice for yourselves.

I'm happy to help with questions on bracelets, bottle res. or anything else regarding our clubs, restaurants and pool.

Sweet as Phil, I'm not sure if that advice was intended for me with a crew of 10 total or for Mike with his crew of 5 total but It is food for thought.

How many bottles would you expect a group of ten to buy? I'm assuming there's a minimum.

Is the vip entrance different to the access you'd have with wristbands?

Our plans are starting to come together now, we've got things bracketed for all our nights there but I'll stick for what we're definitely doing for now.

Thursday: Bottle service @ Tao (Ok, this is a strong maybe, I already lied)
Friday: Palms Wristbands
Sat: UFC, yet to make plans for afterwards
Sunday: EBC


Wed: Last night, bottle service at Surrender (we're doing suits for our last night so lookout for 10 dressed up dudes with Kiwi accents)

Hey mate,
I was in vegas the exact time last year... before and after july 4th is sweet, however on the actual night it's one massive cluster-fuck times infinity everywhere! Pretty much all up the strip is absolute chockers, shoulder to shoulder... so just a heads up with what to expect. Also it's bloody hot (as you would expect)!! Guess it feels a lot hotter coming over during our winter, let alone when hungover and deyhdrated!!

With regards to other 'bar' options... probs recommend voodoo lounge, similar to that of ghostbar (palms). It's got a great vibe, view and even super cheap bottles, goes alright.

You can get 2 bottles for $400... nothing super fancy, but you can still enjoy a bit of luxury for cheap.

All 10 of us are going. 9 of us are sitting together in the tickets that were around $120 but one UFC nut paid around $420 for his and is happy to sit by himself too.

I imagine most of us would be in the same boat, not wanting to spend 8 hours there either. Keep in touch man, might meet you guys for a drink before or something.

Joel: Cheers for the tips mate, we're thinking July 4 will be a rest night anyway as we're going to do the Grand Canyon/ Hoover Dam road trip on the Tuesday and it we will have been drinking Wed through to Sunday by then (including the fact it's more like Tue-Sun since we'll start in the lounge before boarding to plane in NZ) We'll still wander the strip and checkout the sights/ fireworks but just avoid the clubs that night.

I've seen Voodoo pop up here, will check out that link. Sounds good from what I've heard, also keen to check out Old Vegas and Coyote Ugly at some point too.

Yeah July 4th was our rest night too, good night to do it... your guts are usually ruined after the first 4-5 solid nights on the piss anyways, so it's very worthwhile... stock up on the antacids! hahaaha
