Girls giving a tip to a host

How does this work exactly? I mean it's easy for dudes to give the sly handshake...would it be the same for girls? Or do we just whip it out and hand it to them?

Maybe I'm overthinking this!! I've certainly given tips to bartenders, limo drivers, valet drivers, etc and it was never an issue lol.

If you're talking about getting into a club, you will most likely walk in without paying cover so a sly handshake won't be necessary

Just because the person trying to get in is female, I think the host deserves something. I tell my female friends to always tip.

I think it's fair considering most women I know are not willing to get to a club at 10:30 and instead show up at 12:00 when the club is slammed. This rings especially true if you're:

- late
- ugly
- fat
- old

If you're a woman and willing to show up at 9:30-10:00, then by all means, disregard everything I just said.

I don't even bother telling my cheap ass friends (especially the females) about any hookups. They can figure things out for themselves.

as the host walks you in, say something like "thanks for taking care of us" and then slip him the $$. Have it nicely folded in quarters. Do a lateral hand off (kind of like football), as it's less "direct", and you don't need to figure out how to shake the guys hand. I just came up with this one -- if the host is cute, you can go to hug him and then slip it in his back pocket haha

I'm just going to say if they take good care of you, it's nice to take care of them back! Tipping from girls may not always be a necessity, but it's good to show your appreciation if they're helping you with having a good time!

Well yes if you are- our minimums are a lot lower....i would assume well stick close to the $100 a bottle...maybe be more like 80 a bottle...thats $10 a girl per bottle for us...of course depends on the table location as well

IMO tipping is for service.

The host setting up your bottle reservation, and getting you a good location is well worth a $100/200+

If the host is getting you line skipping/cover perks then yes you should tip as well. Although because of the way nightlife scene is i dont think they would EXPECT much from walking in ladies.

Its like getting your meal comped at a restaraunt because you know someone there...you still tip.

Yes, girls can get in without a tip, and a lot of girls don’t tip… But, think about the bigger picture… A host who is tipped by a group of girls would feel inclined to facilitate the enjoyment of said girls. This employee has many connections. The host might be inclined to hook you girls up with drink passes or introduce you to a group of good looking normal guys who have more bottles than they need. They may know of a table with comped bottles for you girls to enjoy or they may know of a group of guys that is celebrating selling their ownership share in Facebook. So don’t think about tipping like “can I get out of tipping because I’m a girl”… Think about tipping like “I wonder how the host is going to make my night better in appreciation for my gracious tip”… Remember… If you don’t tip you can only wonder what amazing situation you missed out on for being cheep in Vegas… If you do tip the sky’s the limit, you may party with the owners of Facebook.

whenever i get groups of girls in, i never expect a tip, but when they do, it's always a really nice bonus, and i definitely think of them in a higher respect. Also, when they ask for help going other places, or when they return again on their next trip, i always extend my help and make sure that they are taken care of, rather than just saying that "i'll put you on the list". but to each their own...
