Being a guy who professionally critiques Steakhouses around the country, I have to say

    HUGE fan of STK...

We were there on a Saturday night/Fight Night so it was insanely packed, but it was tremendous fun.

Great food and a fantastic vibe.

We are already planning to go to STK, and we are thinking of going to Scarpetta as well. Has anyone been there yet?

This may be a dumb question, but did you have a table minimum? Someone from our group said he got quoted a $3k table minimum for our group...

No, in fact we had to change our table size about an hour before the reservation, and they were able to accommodate us with no problem. A $3K table minimum at a restaurant isn't normal - - unless you're renting a private room or something along those lines.

Good call - sounds like they requested a private room - that explains it

If we are a guest at the hotel, do they have any type of comps or hookups we could ask for? If so where do we get them?

At Cosmo, I would contact Tony Paoli - (702) 755-9395. He was a host at Lavo / Tao properties and he moved over to Cosmo to help with their Marketing Team.... a good person to know in Vegas.

I agree with STK being awesome, grew up on cattle ranch and know good beef. The filet was outstanding and cooked to perfection.
DOCG was good. My scallops were very very good, the others in my party had pasta and thought it was good-nothing out of the ordinary but good.
Holsteins lunch was also good-had a burger it was good-not the best I've ever had but cooked to order and the shoestring fries were good. The others in my party had salads and also thought they were good.
Did not ever get a chance to try the pizza joint-it was closes at 4 a.m. and the nights I went out, we didn't make it in before 4!
I feel sorry for people who don't drink, when they get up in the morning, that's best they're gonna feel all day!

don't ever eat at a "restaurant" that has a "DJ" in Vegas and expect something worth the money.

I always go through Tony P also at Cosmo. Great guy.

We ate at STK last trip and it was great. I had filet with sautéed jalapenos and mushrooms. Excellent.

The secret Pizza place is really good too. I think I've eaten there 4 or 5 times and only once did I think the slice I got wasn't superb.

It sounds like the $3,000 quoted for dinner could have been for "e" which is actually a separate restaurant located inside Jaleo. It runs $3K for 8 people (that gives you the entire restaurant to yourselves) and is supposed to be one of those places that if you're a hardcore foodie you don't want to miss. I can't really imagine $3K for anywhere else.

Stk has great food but it is too loud for normal conversation. If your significant other is sitting right next to you no problem, but for more than two people, the music is too loud and you end up nearly shouting at each other. We had a group of four in the circular booth and while it was a great seat overlooking the room, it was a bit unpleasant when dining with newly found friends who you have to repeat things over and over again.
