  • Staying in Forum Deluxe next week at Caesar's Palace...should I upgrade

just got an email "for $20/night i can upgrade to a deluxe room in the augustus or palace towers"

should i do that? is the forum tower old school? is it worth $20/night to get a newer tower? thanks.

Caesars is huge and has a ton of different room options. If I was you, I would try the "sandwich trick" where you tip the clerk at check-in anywhere from $20-$50. Put the money in between your credit card and license and ask "if there are any complimentary suite upgrades available?" Or ask for a specific suite if you know the one you want.

The Augustus towers are great and quicker to get to (immediately to the left of check in) rather then having to walk thru the casino to get to the other wings elevators. I go the upgrade with the sandwhich trick and a smile.

To keep it in perspective, the Forum tower is the tower where the Emperor Suite is (used in Rain Man and the basis for the Hangover).

I've stayed in three types of rooms there (Augustus, Forum Emperor and I think the Roman tower.) All of them seemed similar to me. It depends on how much time you want to spend in the room.

The fact the tower sports a suites, you ain't gettin' it so what's it got to do with anything?

Just ask to be upgraded to the Augustus Tower - Forum is a older tower and while some rooms have been modernized others still sport the early oughts decor. If you want better odds slip them a tip but don't do the "Do you have any upgrades?" thing. Ask them specifically that you'd like an upgrade to Augustus and Palace. Avoid the Roman and Centurion tower.

yea, i would like to be upgraded to augustus. im going to be there a week and i hear the longer you're there, the harder to get an upgrade. i check in this coming monday, i hope the $20 trick works.

i think the entire forum tower has been updated if i read correctly

I wouldn't doubt it that they've all been updated by now. I was just going by what I knew.

When my stay's longer I'll up the tip. $50 should be fine, I'd be leary of $100 though unless you're getting upgraded to your desired tower AND a suite.

thanks all for the replies. im very tempted to do the upgrade now just to be sure all the rooms in augustus/palace aren't sold out (i NEED 2 queen beds).

when are you going? if its during the week you would have a really good chance with the sandwich trick because there should be a lot of open rooms, keep that in mind

In the same boat you are with the $20 upgrade per night offer

I actually am going April 19th thru the 23rd and received the same email regarding getting an upgrade for an extra $20 dollars a night. I was looking to get advice on what to do and i found this thread online about the same thing im going through. i read the $20 dollar trick online too and was going to maybe do that but at the same time i didn't want to risk not getting the Augustus tower room if that didn't work because i really want to stay there. I have the forum room now but i was reading the Augustus tower room was much newer and looks bigger. If you're not sure what to do, this was what i was going to do...i think. i was going to get to the hotel (without upgrading the $20/night over the phone) and ask the clerk can i be upgraded to the Augustus tower, if the clerk tells me its 1. a ridiculous amt of cash (would show the clerk my email and upgrade with the $20 or 2. its not available (then i would ask for the palace). What do you guys think?
