As well, someone had said on here that hip hop doesn't sell tables. I'll neither agree nor disagree with that, but unfortunately it seems electronic dance music is what's selling tables right now, not hip hop.

Just my feeling: I love hip hop music - not gangster rap, but hip hop is equated with "hood"/ghetto lifestyle. I see it in Las Vegas when I walk by Rockhouse and by the comment that was made for the security/off-duty police officers at Crown...why doesn't this happen with electronic dance music clubs?

But luckily we do have a good range of choices if you're looking for places that play hip-hop.
I totally agree with you. It does seem like some of the big clubs cater to people that wanna pose not to people that wanna dance. If electronic music sells more tables then more clubs should start having multiple rooms like Marquee. I dont think all hip hop brings in a ghetto crowd, it depends what type your playing. Gucci mane is gonna bring a different crowd then Snoop dogg or Flo rida.

Exactly. There is a big difference between Jay-Z, Diddy, Lil Wayne etc who all have club/dance/white folks friendly hits and artists like Gucci, Wocka Flocka,Travis Porter etd

One place that plays hip hop, soul/R&B sometimes is the Beauty Bar on Fremont. You have to check their calendar, but I've stumbled onto some really cool, casual nights there that played a mixture of sub-genres of hip-hop (Tribe Called Quest, Common, Mos Def, etc.)

But, yeah, for non-commercial hip-hop, I honestly don't think any club on the strip will play something like Gucci Mane's Wasted or Vic Damone's Drink It Out the Bottle (both great drinking songs).

The only DJ that would probably remotely come close to playing stuff like would have been Clinton Sparks (he was a fun one to listen to when he was at Body English).

I have a feeling though that the David Guetta mix of Snoop Dogg's Sweat will get played this summer.
        FO SHO.

Hi guy’s… This is my first post.

I was also looking to hear some hip hop during memorial day weekend. Of course I enjoy house/trance but I can’t hear it for 4 days in a roll.
I’m from NYC and all the high end clubs out here put hip hop. So I hope I get to hear some in Vegas.

I heard DJ A-Trak (Insane hip hop DJ) will be at XS May 27th. That sounds like a Tier 1 hip hop party to me.

Does anyone have any idea how the crowd might be at this party?
For example do more girls go to the party’s with guest house DJ’s? (such as Marquee or Tao)

          Feedback please.

          Thank you,

While Atrak is a great turntablist, don't plan on him banging out too much hip hop for that venue. Like others have mentioned, the EDM scene is where its at for the venues right now. As we all know, Vegas is all about the money and that's whats hot right now.

Hmmmm, but he is a hip-hop DJ tho? not sure why u'd bring in a hip-hop DJ for an EDM night. im still undecided for the Friday of MDW

Kanye West's DJ so he cant be bad!!

are those tickets definitely going to get people in though? obviously you'd need to get there before 11pm but there's no mention of XS definitely allowing people in like the Surrender Tickets for that night.
