  • searching the ideal place to stay for young people

    Hi all,

I'm visiting Vegas in August from 13th till 17th. I'm coming with a buddy and we want to party as much as possible on these dates.

We're planning on staying at the strip and are now looking for the best place.

I got an offer from Mirage wich would cost us $607.04 (total) for an upgraded deluxe room or $470.40 (total) for a standard deluxe room.

Also the Wynn or Encore for 736$ (total) in a resort suite.

I wonder if these are good offers, or if there are better places to stay for young people (I heard and read good things about Palms Place ? ).

    Thanks for your help

    Patrick

Ok this sound like the ideal place for us. Thanks for the Info. Are there any shuttles to get to the strip?

Edit: Just checked out the rates:

780 $ total for either Palms or Palms Place.

they dont have shuttles but there are plenty of cabs to take you there its really not far...but there is a shuttle directly across the street at gold coast you can jump on, its supposed to be for their guests but they dont ever check. and to be honest there is so much partying at the palms you will be there alot

OK thanks for the Information, I really wouldn't know what I would do if I hadn't found this forum.

Would you prefer Palms or Palms Place????

I def. want to go to Rehab on Sunday. Actually that's why we stay till the 17th (monday) because first we should leave on the 16th. So staying at the Palms makes the way to rehab def. shorter.

both palms and palms place are good, plams place is all suites and newer, but id go with whichever one you get the better deal at. I dont think staying at the palms will make the trip to hard rock that much shorter they are located on diff sides of the strip, but again it wont be hard to get over there....and you will have ditch fridays at the palm pool on friday which is great.

Oops you're right. Just thought for a second that rehab's at Palms and ditch at Hard Rock. Mixed it up......

As far as I've seen the deals are the same 780$ total for both but I'll look around for better deals.

I find it interesting that Palms / Palms Place is more expensive than Wynn and Bellagio.

if its the same then id go with palms place. they usually start out at pretty high prices but the come down as you get closer to the date, ive actually gotten them on priceline.com very cheap at 69/night for a fri sat and sun night about 2 weeks before I was going

That's good to know. So I will check the rates later and hope it will get a bit cheaper.

I hope that I won't spend everything I take with me in Vegas because I have to survive one week in NYC and one week in MIA afterwards. And I tend to spend lots of money when I'm drunk and partying :-))

The smarter route would have been to put the Vegas stay to the end of the trip :-)

One way to beat your money problem is to take only a set amount of cash out a night. It works for me. take out a lump sum out to contribute to our bottle service, or whatever and give it to the member of my party who is charging it on their credit card. This elimates over spending for sure..unless you borrow money from someone in your party..

That's some useful piece of advice. I will stick to it.

Because sometimes I wake up and think.... damm how is it possible that these two drinks of vodka costed me 200 EUR ??? (bottle prices in germany are ways cheaper than in Vegas)

Great advice...if you can stick to it. After the clubs, a bit of overdrinking most people feel like Superman. For me, when I run out of money, I borrow money from a so called "someone in my party" or marker.

Nassau, I think I will try your "take only a set amount of cash out a night" and then hit the hay once the money is gone.

haha I did that trick of only taking a certain amount of money out when I went in March, worked like a charm. When I went in May I had my card on me along with a "set" amount and I ended up pulling out more money from my card so it defeated the purpose. So to add I'd say leave your cards in the safe with your cash, but stash an extra $20 for cab fare just in case!

How I hate these mystery charges. And what's even more cruel is the fear in the morning whether there are some extra CC charges.

I once was told that I've been dancing on a table while drinking out of a Dom Perignon Bottle. And I honestly couldn't remember that part of the night.
I was freaking out and hoped I hadn't bought the bottle with my CC.
The best part I didn't buy it and till today no one knows where the botle came from
