  • Venetian or Cosmopolitian

Looking for a room on MDW 26-29th. Second time in Vegas (stayed at HRH during 1st trip). Its 3 us, and meeting more friends there..everyone in their mid to late 20's and we're looking for a nice place to stay and party. Our options are Venetian or Cosmopolitan. I've been to the Venetian and I know it's nice but evrything I hear about the Cosmopolitian is that its the place to be. Offer for Venetian ends tonight..Any suggestions are appericiated.

I think the Cosmo is getting a bunch of praise because it's brand new and very cool/trendy. I think the best option for your money would still be the Venetian - in my opinion it's a better location on the strip and you're around much more activity.

If you stay at Venetian, you've got Tao and Tao Beach right there. Then you've got Lavo basically connected to your hotel, and you're only a short walk over a pedestrian bridge to the Wynn/Encore complex.

I think you will pay less at the Venetian and I think the Bella Suites there are better suited for a group of 3 guys - there's always the pull-out couch.

Don't forget the cosmo has 0 resort fees while venetian has $20/night so factor that into your costs.

Do you get anything for the resort fee?
            Thx!

resort fee "includes" things like wifi, "complimentary" bullshit room on some floor with a few muffins and coffee in the morning, pool towels.. whatever they can come up with to justify it.

don't cancel rooms over $20, though... it's Vegas. You;re going to piss away that $20 in 60 secs on the floor after you check in. It isn't enough to not stay where you want, imo.

It seems like, to me, that these few hotels that now boast "no resort fees!" just have them rolled into the room rate, anyway.

I have just been once to vegas but did see most hotel casinos, lobbies and several clubs. Just recently booked my 2nd trip and did some research on the hotels and rooms.

I just cant stand the interior decorating style and feel of the venetian. Looks like luxuary nursing home to me. Cosmo feels much more contemp. and stylish, althou the rooms could have been a bit trendier but hey considering it aint a boutique hotel they did a pretty good job.

Sure its only a room and you dont spend to much time in it but i like to feed of the energy and vibe my hotel gives me for the start of the night : )

Just an FYI, all of the Venetian Bella Suites have recently been renovated and have much more contemporary decor/color schemes.
