Vegas Virgin Guide ?

I from New Zealand, and haven't been anywhere like the USA let alone Vegas in my whole life. I'm 21 but in saying that we can drink from 18 here so that's not to much of a big deal. However im ready to come over and go hardcore and get the meanest 6 nights possible, like have the real vegas experience. I'm heading with my girlfriend which i realise may make the trip a bit less fun but on the positive side sober driver haha, I'm curious as to where to go, the protocol on drinking there, and is it dangerous or anything. Like i have no idea, what to expect with Vegas, but i just want to have fun, krank the yardies, and hopefully not get stabbed or anything, so any advice, on best kept secrets, or vegas night and day musts, whether food, where to get alx, or the best clubs would be much appreciated.

Everyone has different views and opinions, though i have not heard of anyone on here being stabbed in vegas, it largely depends on your funds and what you are into, most clubs will have a 1:1 ratio so another bonus of being with your missus, also she will be able to drink free in some places (could steal her drink ) Personally my favourite clubs are XS, Bank and Surrender and Ghostbar/The Pub at Monte Carlo are favourite pre-drink bars, Wet Republic is decent pool party though again it depends what you are into, clubs that i missed when i was there include TAO and Lavo which have had amazing reviews and most Megaclubs get unbelievably busy on weekends, food varies dependent on your budget and location though there are a few good buffets and takeaways, Vegas is your oyster you just need to find your own pearls mate.

Agree with Warren,

It all depends on what your type of music is, type of crowd you are into and what you plan on doing. I don't know if, while your GF is sober would appreciate you writing yourself off for all the time you are there. But if you are planning on heading out I would suggest places like TAO, XS etc.

I would definatley recommend the Palms of a Friday night, you can pick up wristbands from www.wanttickets.com and they usually cost around $130 which will get you a Hosted Bar (good as drinks can cost a fortune!) in 1 club, plus VIP access to the other 3. We had Ghostbar as ours, awesome view.

When are you coming? If weather is good, Wet Republic is a must! Best time of my life and if you are into house/progressive/electro then it's the place for you!

You'll be fine in Vegas as far as safety is concerned. There is people everywhere 24/7. No matter what time of day. I cant tell you how many times I stumbled home from the club and somehow made my way to bed. It's all good, and unless you go off the strip and seriously take like 20 wrong turns you will be fine.

Cheers for the replies, warren 11: yeah i saw that girls seem to get lots of advantages so that could come in handy, sweet i will definately head into check out those clubs, im into my sort of house, dubstep, but with every so often a bit of top 40 so i guess there will be particular clubs to hit up depending. When you say pre drinks bars, are they more cheap or is it like a diff vibe ? oh and i was curious as to the haps with door charges and dress codes ? any help would be great
The Muss: loving the nickname ahaha big history with that here, im sort of into everything but generally would be more inclined to frequent dancy, rave, dub type vibe so anywhere like that i'm sure would be awesome. What is a hosted bar ? i read up your story but wasn't sure is it a bar tab ? Im coming april 27- 3rd may so i think the weathers alright, is that place a pool or like a foam party ? but the music for it sounds mean so keen as, sweet cheers seen to much cops lol but am in that stage where my trip is near and dont want to miss anything out while im there, and if you know anywhere that girl specific i'd be keen to here my gfs not a big partier but want her to have fun as well.

Haha yeah I am a huge fan of the movie. Temuera Morrison plays the role to perfection.

Hosted Bar is Free Bar, its good because say you and your girlfriend buy a drink like a Vodka/Lemonade + Shot, you are looking at around $40.00 just for 1 round. So the hosted bar lets you smash drinks like a champion without worrying about the cost.

Wet Republic is an actual pool party. Take the drinks into the pool and get loose and have a great time.

Girl specific I am not sure mate, I think she will have a great time wherever you go. But considering your only 21 I would definatley hit up Palms as its more of a younger crowd.

You have to write a TR as well, mandatory!

haha hard man, we met these american guys in town in tauranga and they told us the whole reason they came to nz was cause of once were warriors haha wanted to see if it was legit.

TR means Trip Report, just post some good stories about how your trip was so other new people can see how awesome vegas is and it's always good when your at work and bored lol.

Regards to meeting new people, yes but it depends where you go, sometimes I was rejected without even opening my mouth.

But NZ/Aussie accent is fairly similar and people will be curious. So yeah pretty easy. Just keep an eye on your MRS with these american boys around haha just joking
