  • Casual bars

I'm heading to Vegas for the first time in a couple of weeks. What kind of options are there in terms of just casual bars? i.e. dressed in sneakers, jeans, casual shirt/t-shirt as opposed to clubwear, with a upbeat atmosphere and somewhere to dance? I'm think I'm looking at places similar to Carnival Court from what I can gather. Is Carnival Court the only/best option?

Any tips would be appreciated, we're there for a week and don't want to hit the clubs every night.

There are a couple of really cool dueling piano bars - thinking of Harrah's and NY/NY off-hand. Those places get loud, people sing along, and there's some raucous drinking going on in there. It's a great time.
    Vegas Trips to-date:
    November 12-13, 2008 - Palms Standard
March 18-22, 2009 - MGM Grand Bungalow Suite
April 22-26, 2010 - MGM Grand Bungalow Suite
    June 2-6, 2011 - Venetian Bella Suite
June 21-26, 2012 - Cosmopolitan Wraparound Terrace Suite

Same here... Going to Vegas in May ... want to go clubbing but also want to check out some laid-back bars. My plan is to do my own bar crawl starting at Harrah's Carnaval Court and walk (or stumble) up the strip. All of these are fairly close - Margaritaville (Flamingo), Rockhouse (Imperial), Chatteau beer garden (Paris - not sure about this one), Cabo Wabo/Fat Tuesday (PH). I'll save the lounges/clubs for another night.

Love the idea of the pub crawl! As awesome as the clubs are, sometimes you just want a night of 300 not stomping your toes!
Am I the only one that walks into a Subway and says, "It smells like O'Shea's in here."

            Upcoming trips!
            July 9-12 - Mirage

I went to Chatteau beer garden 3/25 and 3/26 had a blast. No cover no dress code girls dancing on the tables. I would definitely check it out.

Is it connected to the Chateau nightclub?

Blue Martini is a good spot on Wednesday nights as of last year. There's also a few other places there that are casual to start off with at Town Square like Yard House.

A family friend that used to work for Harrahs in New Orleans/Paris Las Vegas had given a thumbs up overall for Nine Five Irishmen also (He's a chef by profession so I take his word).

Yeah it's the outdoor patio for the club.
