How to get into any club

Yo, thought it would be a good idea to post a quick tips thread for people that are not familiar with the club scene and dont know how to get past the line. Like many of the club vets here, I dont wait in line, nor do I get turned away from a club, be it here in LA or in when I'm in Vegas. I hope some of the other vets add to this thread

Tip 1: Do not get in line! When you arrive, first scope the scene out, see who is getting let in, who is working the rope, and most importantly, who has the clipboard and is checking people in. The guy or girl with the clipboard at the door is usually the person with the most power, and should be your main target.

Tip 2: Walk straight to the front of the line. Got a big group? Go no more than 2 at a time. Lie to the people in line and tell them you have a table and need to check in, or, if you're a big dude like me, just tell people to move and act like you work there/own the place. Your attitude and how you look when you get to the front of the line will help you get in faster.

Tip 3: Get the person with the clipboards attention. Ask about table service from a bouncer if you have to get their attention that way, or just smile and stare until you make eye contact.

Tip 4: Tell the person who is deciding if you get in that you have a tip of X amount of dollars for X amount of people, then show that person the money, and be discreet, but be polite and they will open the rope and let you in. I have found that $20-$40 per person will get you in, and in rare cases $50.

Tip 5: Ask for a business card and say you may want table service sometime, but only say this after you are in and only if the host is not too busy. You can use this contact next time so you can A) drop names at the door and B) prearrange your arrival/getting in with the host. Jack has provided a list of hosts for each club on this site, so that may help you.

Tip 6: If you are dressed like a douche, are rude, arrogant, or otherwise labeled as a douche at the door- you will never get in and no amount of tipping will get you past the rope.

It's either in money or attitude, totally.

When I came up to the club, there are TONS of girls that are a lot hotter than me in the line, but you walk into the "Invited Guests or VIP line" like you're supposed to be there, as long as you have something to work with (money) or can pull it off right (decent looks), you've got it made!

tipped the security at our table $100, who gave all my friends (including those NOT at the table) wristbands for easy ins&outs. $100 to the waitress to keep the ladies' drinks topped off and another $100 to the bus-boy for taking care of our needs throughout the night.

more than i anticipated to tip, but was smashed and had my girls all over me...so i was happy

    I use...

the recommendations of hosts that I already know to contact other hosts at other clubs.

That way when I call a host from a club I don't normally go to or a club that I've never been to before, I'll tell him/her who I am and say I know so-and-so and got their number from him/her. That way, it won't be such a cold approach and they'll be more likely (in my experience) to honour guest list/bottle service/etc.

If you're a complete Vegas virgin, then yeah, use Jack Colton's contacts (this site wasn't around when I first started clubbing in Las Vegas, so it was all trial-and-error).

Ha, I was trying NOT to be sexist with this...but yeah, having a pair of tits and a great skimpy dress is a sure way past the rope if you're a woman. If you're a guy, and you don't want to tip big- come with a hot girl on each arm and you will be treated like a rockstar.
