  • Line of Credit/ $$$ on Deposit

I've seen a couple of posts that allude to opening a line of credit at a casino or depositing funds on arrival as a way of getting "noticed". Any truth to this? I usually have a couple thousand cash with me, keep half of it in the room-safe and play with the other... sometimes I add to what's in the safe, sometimes I need to take a draw. I've got the players cards and the hosts thing down I think.

Just curious if the rest of you think there's a "reason" to either deposit some $$$ (not sure a couple grand is enought for this) on account or open a line of credit?

5 or 10 k and just don't go to the cage, do it through a casino VIP host who will put you in his or her system

I think it could be a really good idea. I might do the same. I'm sure I won't be "noticed" but it could lead to some better room deals and more room comps.

if you arent going to gamble it though, it wont matter.......if you are going to gamble it then yeah, it will get you a step ahead in getting noticed....but I agree with Mikey T ........10k and up to start......I have had many a times where 5k didnt mean much to the casinos unless you were at a small time place like the Trop or others outside of the major casino/hotels

Does it seem like opening a line before arrival would help at all for upgrades at check-in?

I used to have a BIG credit line. Doesn't do anything. If you don't cycle the right amounts at the table, you won't get anything. If anything, they will decrease your line.

Well bring $100k will sometimes get you a 1-2% promo chips and depending on your play get your airfare reimbursed. However, if your are not betting $1000+ ave a hand, you will definitely never see the promo again. Your upfront suite comp could also be in jeopardy if you don't give the casino the right amount of action.

That being said, you should not really gamble for comps. In the long run you lose kore than you would have paying for it. You can get away with fooling the casino once, but with the computerized tracking and RFID chips in new casinos you can be sure that you won't fool them twice.
