  • Any Rum or Scotch Drinkers?

    What's your favorite sipping spirit?

Depends on the mood i'm in. If i'm having a cigar I really enjoy a good Rum like Ron Zacapa, but after a long day of computer problems i like to enjoy a glass of Macallan 15 year fine oak.

I'm hoping during MayAOD I can find some places that have these, i'll most likely bring a bottle as well.

+1 on the Macallan. I had a glass of 21 year old at bar in Savannah that was amazing to say the least. I have not drank much scotch in Vegas, but I am sure some of the higher end casino bars will have the good stuff. I will also be in town for the May AOD weekend, let me know if you find a good spot, and I will do the same, we can meet up for a glass of the good stuff.

I went to one of the Macallan events here and was able to sample the 21 year old and yes, it is very amazing. I'm hoping to find a place, if so i'm definitely going to report it.

Finally, a thread for me!! Scotch guy here and Macallan is definitely my go to. I'm also partial to Oban and Talisker (had an 18 year Talisker last weekend and it is magnificent). Got into Highland Park and Lagavulin for a spell last year - a little more pungent but both go down smooth.

The guy that actually got me into drinking scotch and smoking cigars is really into Oban, I was thinking about trying it out but it's hard venturing away from my babies.

I love Scotch. For day to day drinking I usually have a bottle of Glenfiddich 15. I recently discovered this website over here in the UK that sells 30ml samples of whisky, so you can try really expensive bottles without having to buy the whole bottle. I got like 8, highlights including a Macallan 22 and a Glenmorangie 18.

I do love a good cigar as well, although I guess in the States you can't really get Cubans? Or isn't that really enforced?

But anyway, I reckon we should do a mAyOD trip to a cigar/whisky bar at some point.

Cubans can be easily smuggled in but unfortunately yea, we can't buy them here. I do enjoy from time to time a nice Rocky Patel with some Rum.

I'm all down for a cigar whiskey meet. Good way to relax and enjoy yourself before more drinking tom foolery later that evening.

+1...but wherever we end up must have many leather bound books and smell of rich mahogony!!

I'm a big fan of McCallan as well. had the 22 in Boston a couple of years back.

I also really like the Glenmorangie Lasanta & Quinta Ruban.

I'm always down for a good Scotch.

Actually, it only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

A good friend would bail you out of jail, but your best friend would be the one sitting next to you saying, "damn that was awesome".

I live for the nights I can't remember with the people I'll never forget.

Laphroaig 25 is in my cabinet and waiting the perfect moment to be opened.

Otherwise, a Lagavulin tends to be my regular drink.
                      Things escalated quickly...

Love the Lagavulin, always a winner with me.

2 of my faves are the Bruichladdich Peat and Amrut (it's Indian but still is awesome)
