Good value hangover friendly cocktails. Your thoughts...

I like Vodka Cranberry or Screw Drivers, but I just looked at the recipe an noticed Vodka Cranberry has only 1 oz vodka and 4 1/2 oz of Cranberry Juice w/ a splash of lime & orange juice. I would drink 10ish drinks in a night and 45 oz of Cranberry Juice is a ton of sugar. So, I'm considering something better.

Anyway, I just looked at the recipe of a Dirty Vodka Martini and it has 3 oz Vodka, 1 oz Dry Vermouth, and 1/2 oz olive brime. The Gin Martini has 2 oz of Gin.

I've never had a Martini but the Vodka one sounds like a solid drink. I guess a Martini is $20ish and a Vodka Cranberry is $13ish.

I'm guessing Vodka or Gin on the rocks would be the ultimate drink; probably getting 2 oz at $13ish, and no sugar, but I've never drank these straight either.

What do you think is a solid cocktail? There's got to be some other good alternatives

Dirty vodka martinis are great! BUT they are very dry and I like my extra dirty, which puts more salt into them-but when drinking, the extra salt is not a bad thing!

Bloody Mary, Screwdriver, Vodka Tonic/Soda Water, or Rum and Diet Dr. Pepper are the consensus amongst my friends. Anything with actual juice and vitamins will help rehydrate you and will also force your body to start metabolizing new nutrients in to your body, making fresher, newer enzymes - which is why hair of the dog works for some people.

But as a rule the clearer the alcohol the less tannins which means less likely to have a hangover in the first place.

Thats an awesome combo, but its loosing value with the expensive water bottle prices. Makes it a $20+ shot, but the water definitely benefits for reducing hangovers.

I'm looking at the recipe for Vodka and Lime Juice on the Rocks, and it is: 3oz chilled Vodka with freshly squeezed lemon juice from a half lime served on the rocks. Sounds like the ultimate value hangover friendly drink

The juice drinks are probably all right if your drinking under 10 drinks in a night

I'm eating a buffett, and taking an Animal Pak (Vitamin Pak) before drinking every night by the way. Will try to eat before bed and drink a 32oz water or gatorade

Baccardi and Diet Coke

Absolutely my favorite drink. Only 65 calories and no sugar.

Baccardi is a "Call" drink and pretty inexpensive. At most bars, even in Vegas you can get a Baccardi and Diet for about $6-9, at the clubs $9-13. Baccardi is much better than "well" rums like Curazan in my opinion.

As far as prices go, anyone who is worried about the cost of their fave cocktail in the club, you're doing it wrong.

Hand stamp, penny slots, bribe cocktail waitress to bring four drinks to you at once with a $10. Chug drinks. Problem solved.

but seriously...i used to be a big vodka-cran guy, until i realized that my hangovers were always brutal from it and then put 2 and 2 together to realize that not only was the alcohol sucking my system dry, but the sugar in the cranberry juice was also. so it was like a double whammy.

Don't worry about the night before and remind myself I'm in Vegas, that takes care of the hangover.

If I'm lucky, I may remember to take a couple of painkillers and some water before passing out but that isn't the norm.

Best cure is a ceaser...mmmm takes the edge off and makes u feel great. I don't think you have clamato juice tho in the states, its way better than a blody mary
