Well I posted on here a while back and got some real good feedback, basically there are four of us coming over from england for a week at the end of September and we are booking next week via expedia.

We have decided that for us the best bet in terms of price and location would be New York New York, we looked at the MGM but it seems difficult to get rooms at the dates we require, we thought about the Luxor but its location isnt great and the Wynn was just a bit too expensive seeing as we are going to be paying about £500 ($740) for flights. Would have loved to stay at the Hard Rock or Palms but a couple of the guys wanna stay on the strip because its our first time in Vegas.

If anyone has any other suggestions (We were thinking maybe the Flamingo) or any reasons we shouldnt stay at NY NY it would be nice to know.

    Any ideas would be appreciated

You should also look into the Monte Carlo hotel. Its right next to the NY NY. The Monte Carlo has some real nice clean rooms. I stayed there in Feb on the Spa suite and it was beautiful and big. My friend had a regular room room and it was also clean and big. The prices might be a lil cheaper if you can get a promo code. Also look into the TI or Mirage. Most hotels send u you promo codes, all u have to do is sign up for their guestbook.

If you do end up staying at the NYNY, stay in the Player's suite. two beds and a nice sized hot tub.
Vegas is everything that’s right with America. You can do whatever you want, 24 hours a day. They’ve effectively legalized everything there.

I would recommend the Monte Carlo over the NY NY for the same price point.

I second all the posts that recommend Monte Carlo over NYNY. I have stayed there many times, and never been disappointed. Last stay was at a Spa Suite, and it was amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean and modern.

@ NYNY you got yer Coyote Ugly... some nice blackjack tables right outside where you can watch the procession of women...

            not sure I'd stay there.

MGM is nice, but nearly ALWAYS overcrowded.. I think because of it being the end of the monorail line.. these streams of people come filing through the casino like cattle... really annoying, as they usually have (1) kids (2) strollers (3) Hawaiian shirts & flip flops... even @ 2am! ... the monorail basicaly dumps the Bally's & IP crowd into MGM a few times an hour.

TI is nice for the money and connected to Mirage by tram... Venetian across the street. Monte Carlo is good, too... a bit generic (let's see if we can build a hotel like Steve Wynn, apparently).

NYNY is fine, but you'd probably be a bit happier at TI or MC - of course, depending on what kind of upgraded room you can swing.

I'd definitely go Monte Carlo, or Flamingo over New York New York. Even Planet Hollywood is much better and if you factor in resort fees, I dont think PH would be much more expensive. Either sign up for all their offers, or find promo codes at

              http://www.mycheapvegas.com

You should be able to find flight + hotel a little bit cheaper if you book separately, and you'll also be able to change your hotels without any cancellation fees if you decide you want to or find a better deal.

Forgot to add, Tropicana is an excellent option as well. It's cheap and the rooms are much better than any other standard room you'd find out there.

I concur with bobu. Planet Hollywood is a great fun option and very good strip value with promo codes.

From the UK the cheapest hotel/holiday booking companies have to be travelrepublic.co.uk and http://www.lowcostusa.co.uk.
They are both reputable companies and could save you a lot of $$$$$.

                Good luck and enjoy Vegas!
