Tao Opium Room vs. Vanity

Whats going on guys,

Just found this forum and have been searching/reading the past experiences of members. I wanted to get your advice on an upcoming trip.

I will be coming to Vegas on memorial day weekend for my gf's birthday. It will be a party of 12 (9 girls and 3 guys). I have contacted VIP services and have been quoted a range of figures. The best pricing I have received is $2500 for Tao Opium Room and around $2000 for Vanity (a table somewhere upstairs next to a stripper pole?)

I just wanted to know if any of you guys have been to the opium room? Last time I had a table at Tao it was a down a hallway near a corner (what I believed was on the main floor). Are there any pictures of the opium room on the web? And lastly, would you prefer Tao over Vanity? Thanks for all your help. Much appreciated.

I've been there and loved it. It was more affordable than the main room and better than the hallway. I would pick it over vanity myself, but when I was at Vanity it was dead so not a very good comparison.

I actually ended up talking to a VIP company (Red Carpet VIP). They have also quoted me $3450 for an XS table. It seems that this would be the best deal as many have told me that over 10k people are usually at xs on memorial day weekend. Again, I appreciate all of your advice. Did you contact Ryan Perrings or anyone at XS personally? Most on this site do not use third party hosts. Usually they are just booking the things you are booking and then overcharging on top of that.

Vanity is basically split into two areas: inside and outside. At Tao, they have multiple rooms. The Opium Room is the closest to the hallway and the main area; there's an upstairs loft and such, but I consider the Opium Room its own area.

Vanity will play a more blended mix of music, while the Opium Room at Tao will play more hip hop/r&b.

I like both places, but probably give an edge to Tao since I'm more into the music in the Opium Room.

Ultimately, it comes down to budget and what kind of music you want to listen to. On Memorial Day Weekend, it almost won't really matter where you go.

Thanks for the advice. I called XS today and talked with one of their hosts (Vince). The price was considerably cheaper! Though it is too early to make reservations, I was told that there would be a two bottle minimum and a price of $600 per bottle+tax+gratuity. Total should come out to around 1500-1700. Not bad for Memorial Day Weekend.

also remember, this doesnt include theirr handshake..

also no venue is really quoting mdw prices yet..

the chances of a 2 bottle reso getting bumped this particular weekend are pretty high..

so always manage your expectations..

Way too early to book MDW......2 things usually happen if you book this early. You either screw yourself out of a better deal or you get a good deal only to find out at the door your minimum went up.
