  • MGM grand tower room upgrade? few questions

Hi, i'm travelling to Las Vegas in June with two of my friends, they have already got their Grand Tower room booked and paid for, i am travelling with them but haven't got my room sorted yet, i have found out that i can hire a rollaway bed in their room.
I know the cost of a rollaway bed is $35 plus tax so i will be paying roughly about $280 for the 7 nights i am there so....

    1. Will i have to pay extra for a third person in the room on top of the cost of a rollaway bed?

    2. And if i do have to pay for a third person what will i be expecting to pay?

    3. What is the likelihood of getting a (free) room upgrade to a bungalow suite with the amount of money i will be paying extra for the room that has already been paid for?

    1. Yes, they will charge you $35 for the rollaway bed and then $30 per night for each person above 2 adults in the room. My advice is to ALWAYS say you have 2 adults in the room. Get 2 keys at check-in, and then come back down to the desk and say that you locked yourself out of the room and need another key. In some cases, they'll just give you an extra key if you ask for it upon check-in.

    2. $30 per each additional adult, per night.

    3. Liklihood is pretty good to get upgraded to a Bungalow suite if you slip $20, maybe $40, in between your credit card and ID upon check-in. Make sure you specifically ask "if there are any complimentary upgrades available to a Bungalow Queen suite."

When I go in July, It will be my second time staying at MGM. I booked my room as a flight+hotel deal through priceline and I don't think there were any extra person fees incurred... unless they were included. Same thing goes for when I booked it through Expedia last time.

So maybe you only have to pay $30 extra per night per person for when you book straight through MGM.

I always just ask for 4 keys @ check in wherever I go. If they ever ask, which hasn't been done yet. I'd just tell em, "just in case so I don't lock myself out.

I'm going from May 31st to June 10th with a mate, staying in a twin queen in the Grand Tower, and we are planning to slide a $50 and see if we can get a comp upgrade to a bungalow suite. Will let you know how successful we are.

Thanks! The plan is to go to plenty of pool parties in the day then club it at night. Throw in lots of poker and craps and it'll be an awesome 10 days. Can't wait!!

Just be carefull when your traveling with a friend and asking and getting a free upgrade at the mgm for their suites. You might be spooning with your friend since they only come with 1 king bed and not 2 queens.

The bungalow suite comes with 2 queen beds according to the MGM website so I will only attempt an upgrade to that variant of suite. Don't wanna spoon with any lad when on holiday! Or any time for that matter!!

From personal experience... MGM doesn't really work with the sipping a $20 or $50 between your cards upon check-in... Last time I did that at like 10PM at night while checking in and the lady jsut gave me back the $20 and didn't say anything.

After that experience I'm not going to waste my time and effort to try to get an upgrade at the MGM. "You get for what you paid for" seems to be their policy with upgraded rooms so I'll stick with that

Only places where ive heard more success is the Venetian/Palazzo.

I booked the Hollywood suit and was wondering if the 20 trick might work to bump me to something larger

Be careful at mgm in regards to your rooms. They overbook a lot and don't always have the room or suite that you book. I've stayed there at 7 times and this happened twice. This one time we booked a 2-bedroom suite, 1500 ft at a great price and they didn't have it when we got there. I was initially pissed but they comped 2 regualr rooms for the whole time there. Also, they try to send young couples to the west wing which is kind of nice but really small and far away.

In regards to the rollaway beds, forget it. Just sleep head to toe!

Would they waive the third party room rate if i ask politely for a rollaway bed?
