  • Help! (Please!)

Here it is, me and my friends are going to be bboking a holiday to Vegas in October in the next few weeks, we are all 23 or 24 and are from England. When researching places to stay and go in Vegas the website has been awesome but we're still not sure where to stay. There are six of us and we plan to have three seperate rooms, altough money isnt a problem we dont want to be spending loads on accomadation. All we really need is a decent room and maybe a good partying vibe in the hotel.

So far we have narrowed it down to the following hotels:

    The Flamingo
    MGM Grand
    New York New York
    Planet Hollywood
Maybe the Wynn, although it may be a bit too expensive

Any tips or suggestions would be great, thanks.

Well first off if you want a party vibe then Wynn / Encore is where you want to be at considering alot of things are right there. The other thing that throws me off a little bit is where you say money isn't an issue, not looking to spend a lot, but then you throw in NY, NY & Flamingo.......so im not sure. either way your trip isn't for a while yet so i would search for an awesome deal at one of the nicer hotels. Keep looking on here for people that post deals and keep checking websites. FYI Signature @ MGM was having crazty deals yesterday.

"good partying vibe in the hotel"? I'm surprised Hard Rock and/or Palms isn't on the list, but perhaps you want to stay on The Strip. Of those you mentioned, my vote goes to Planet Hollywood. Next week I'll be staying at the Wynn/Encore for the first time in a 18 months, I'll report back, but while extremely nice, I don't recall a "party vibe" there. Of course I usually stay mid-week.

Just to clarify, i said Wynn/encore for party vibe considering you have Tryst, Blush, EBC, Surender & XS all right there. You dont have to go anywhere else. I dont really think in my opinion there is a "party vibe" hotel of course unless you do HRH.

I think MGM Grand is your best bet. That'll be the cheapest hotel when considering a quality hotel/resort.

Additionally, the pools will still be open in October and MGM has a great pool complex. On top of that, there's Wet Republic which is great on Friday, awesome on Saturday, and great on Sunday.

You will be able to find a great deal during your stay if you use a promocode from earlyvegas.com, smartervegas.com, or mycheapvegas.com.

Just FYI, the regular pool complex at MGM was still pretty full, but Wet Republic slows WAY down in October. Their party weekends stop sometime in September. I was there mid-October and WR was pretty dead on a Sat. Music was on, but it could've been someone's iPod for all we knew, no actual DJ. It wasn't a bad time necessarily, b/c there was plenty of room to move, no line to get in, @ the bar or @ the bathrooms, but not at all the party vibe that it has in the summer months.

If you're looking for a party hotel, I'd stick w/ Planet Hollywood on the strip, or Palms/Hard Rock off the strip.

Also, if you find a decent deal now, I'd say go ahead and book it. Then if you find something better, even at the same hotel, you can always cancel the original reservation and re-book.
Oh, P-tr-ck, I STILL need to borrow your German Leg Breaking Machine....Thx.

Ive stayed at PH for the past 2 years and will be staying at PH Towers this year and have no complaints. Its well located on the strip, has a great casino, the crowd is fairly young and the vibe is awesome.

Fair enough the pool isnt great and the they dont boast a decent nightclub but I only have good experiences of it.

Your group is also the same age as mine.

I'm planning a big trip with about 16-20 people in November and my biggest advice for anyone who has the time to do it, RESEARCH PATIENCE RESEARCH PATIENCE RESEARCH...keep a close eye on deals at places like Kayak.com and also do the math and find out if a Air/Hotel package is really a better deal or if you can book them separately for cheaper (it can go either way depending on when you are ready to book). Sometimes booking seperately might only save you $20 or $30 but it makes you feel better none the less.

As far as your picks, Planet Hollywood is probably one of my favorite locations. Moe definitely has it right, if you come across what you feel is a great deal just book it and keep your eyes peeled. As you get a little bit closer the deals will get better, right now they stay pretty steady because you're so far out from the trip.

I would vote against NYNY unless you get a great deal. MGM is right across the street and has a better vibe IMO. I would also say that if you've never been to Vegas, stay somewhere on the strip. Wynn and Encore are def the best properties in terms of the 'vibe' (I haven't been to cosmo yet). I do think that the ambiance when you step of the elevator should be good. Some properties have a certain air when you step into the casino and it just screams 'Vegas!' IMO Palms did not have this. Neither did NYNY. MGM did, and so did Wynn/Encore. A British friend of ours books airfare with hotel and says that Wynn/Encore is usually the most bang for the buck. You haven't told us when you're going. The 31st of October is a very big American/Vegas holiday. Crazy fun. When we went last year all of the pool parties were done, but the pools were still open. Hope some of this helps.
That being said, if you're asking if it can be done, you're probably not at the level where you could pull it off.

You want to be at the club where girls want to be... not where guys get good bottle deals.

Las Vegas was good. Hell of a ship, hell of a crew.

Thanks for the help guys, we kind of have to book it in advance because its awkward to get time off work together, we'll kepp looking around, we would like to stay on the strip because its our first time in Vegas, from what you guys have said it looks like PH or the MGM would be good places to go.

Yeah, I always tell people staying on the strip is worth every penny you'd save staying off the strip, kind of like staying on site at Disney World, you'd spend the same amount or more in parking and cab fare to get to the strip that you'd save.

Being Your first time you definitely want to be in the mix of it all, MGM and PH would definitely give you that. I personally am one who enjoys the vibe of Vegas no matter where I end up staying (just a place to lay my head for a few hours at night) so a little piece of advice from a "veteran"...make your trip awesome no matter what is going on, drop the drama, drop the worry, and have a a$$ton of fun with what you have.

Oh, and beware, after you bust your Vegas cherry you'll never look at partying or vaca spots the same way again.
