Room upgrades at the luxor?

Me and a group of friends will be staying at the luxor on a weekday april 20th thru the 23rd. I HEARD that sometimes if you offer a tip at checkin you may get lucky with an upgrade? How true is this seen as how were staying at a mediocre hotel. Sounds like it wouldnt work any experiences?

It’s called the sandwich. Slip a $20 between your ID and Credit card then hand it to the clerk. They’ll know what it is. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I haven’t tried it at Luxor there are websites that give reviews on how it worked for them. Google : $20 Trick

Sandwich works all the time. Just depends on the hotels occupancy. The more open they are the more likely an upgrade is.

It also has to do with how over sold the regular rooms are and if they need to start bumping people into suites to make it work.
