  • Poker for bachelor group

I'm part of a group of 8 or 9 guys visiting late March for a bachelor party weekend. Is it possible to request a private game at the casino poker rooms? Any recommendations? We just want to put up $50-$100 each.

I went down as part of a group of 12 guys. We were all staying at the Mirage and we went to the poker room there and requested a private game. They said no problem and set us up.

We played 1-2 NL HE and made a $10 maximum bet / raise. It did not matter really anyways because we agreed to split the money up after anyways. We just got a table to get free drinks. We played for about 2 hours and everyone got hammered for $25 each (rake plus tips to the waitress). Everytime she brought a round we would order another round (shot and drink) and tip $10 a round.

If you have enough guys (10) it is the cheapest way to get hammered in Vegas short of drinking in your room.

I think any poker room will spread a game for you with at least 9 players as long as there getting a rake they don't care. Just make sure you take care of the dealers or they might not spread that game for you.

I was looking for a thread like this, there will be 16 of us during our trip and we wanted to do a poker thing like this (obviously 2 tables) then like do a final table and eventually a winner.....when you are talking about Rake, whats that mean?

Rake is the percentage of the pot the house keeps from each hand.

Rake to the casino - where the dealers pull a couple bucks out of the pot for the house every few minutes.

Ok so looking at it from this stand point.....if we all put in $100 (so $1600 total) and we decided that no matter who won the money would go towards drink or something, how much roughly do you think would be lost in rake of the 1600?

Depends on how long you play and how many hands are played. They could rake up to $100-200 if you're there for a few hours.

Rakes are usually like 5-10% of the pot with a max dollar amount...depends where you're going.
