  • Marquee tables and extra taxes

Hey guys, been a Vegas vet for a few yrs and always do bottle service. Looking at Marquee for Sat 3/19. Two things:

    1) Opinions on the Roof Deck Patio yet? How is it and is it a good location to set up home base? Not a huge fan of EDM so main room isn't worth the extra money to me. Host told me they'll be blasting out music from the main room to this area which sounds fine to me.

Boom box might be a possibility bc we're more into hip hop/top 40 but I heard it's pretty small (7 tables total?).

    2) I was given a quote for a table plus a sales tax (~8%), 10% LET tax (???) and a 20% gratuity for the waitress (standard).

I have never heard of the 10% LET tax. Has this always been included? And you math majors help me here but if I am quoted $1,500 min for a table, are we looking at the min of:

    $1500 tab
    ~$120 (8%tax)
    ~$150 (10 LET tax)
    ~$300 (20% gratuity waitress)
    - TOTAL of $2070?

Just don't want any surprises at the end of the night. I don't mind spending $$$$$$$ in Vegas.

Thanks guy and can't wait for March Madness in Vegas!!

I have never heard of this tax either but seems to be something they are charging now. We just booked a section for Tiesto at Hard Rock and the same 10%LET tax was addes.

boom box has a fairly small dance floor. it can get pretty crowded in there quickly..

          still had a blast though

Someone else had posted asking about the LET tax as well. Never seen it myself, but I'm guessing it's cause looking at the Marquee schedule, every night is an "event" with some special dj or performer of some sort.

I was at a table on the pool deck. Not the best for dancing but if you dont want to be blasted with EDM its probably the best bet to be close to all the action. Depending on what time of the year you are going it might be just as busy outside.

Overall, how would you compare the table to let's say the boom box room? And how loud is the music out there?

And lastly, did you wish you got a table anywhere else in the club? (I am also not a huge fan of EDM)

Oh absolutely not. it was with the rest of the party but you didn't have to listen to the EDM blasting.... I didnt stay in the boom box room for very long. Just long enough to check it out.

                        Yup.

For the lazy ones: LET = Live Entertainment Tax. Usually 5 - 10% and can be added to admission charges,
merchandise, food and refreshments sold at the event.

I've seen this LET tax on concert tickets in Vegas for YEARS. Maybe they consider a headlining DJ a concert type event now?
Oh, P-tr-ck, I STILL need to borrow your German Leg Breaking Machine....Thx.

Looks like the "entertainment" that night is Paul Van Dyk..

                            ^pretty much this

The pdf states that if the DJ does anything outside of the what a DJ normally does...then its considered entertainment.

                            Its not....
