Last minute change - advice much appreciated

Hey guys,

After months of planning (thanks to the help of a lot of people here), I was getting excited that the week of the Vegas trip was finally here... and then I found out that our Thursday plans fell through. Apparently Tao no longer does express entry wristbands.

I've got a group of 7 guys and we quickly learned our last time in Vegas that we need to pre-pay for whatever we do so we can get in (we tried splitting up and getting in with girls last time, but after only half our group got in we decided we'd rather pay up front for the guarantee no one gets left out). We're on something of a budget so $35 for express entry to Tao on a Thursday sounded perfect. Now, without that option, I'm scrambling for a backup. We're already going to be at Palms clubs on Friday and Saturday so I'm not eager to do that for a third night, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Eat dinner at Tao before hand... everyone has to get an entree and they will give you a re-entry stamp.

You can still get in, but would need to take care of the host with some grease or get BS that way you will not have to wait in-line. Get in touch with Donnie.LAVO and see if there is anything that he would be able to do for you.

Drew: One entree each is enough? I'm looking at the menu and that's not much more than the wristbands - better, considering we'd get dinner too. Would 7 guys be able to walk right in with these handstamps or would we just get cover waived if we managed to make it to the front of the line?

Vadiksf: I mentioned greasing to the hosts that confirmed that wristbands are no more until November (Bob and Jordan) but it looks like table service is the only thing they could offer, which is way out of our price range. I'll PM Donnie though.

Yes typically one entree each is enough. It used to be hit or miss back in 2008/early '09 then everyone started reporting worked every time starting mid late 2009. Just walk right in. If you feel more comfortable, walk in as separate groups?

One other idea thrown around for Thursday was Haze, since we're staying nearby. Despite being 7 guys, if we showed up early do you think we could all get in with relatively little hassle or is that pushing it? What time would we have to get there to be okay (looks like they open at 10:30)?

I think you're going to find that between 7 guys paying cover or greasing a doorman and paying crazy $$$ for drinks once inside, you're going to end up spending almost as much as you would have if you'd gotten bottle service. Getting a table would make for a much more memorable/enjoyable night.

I wish, but that's just not in the cards. We've got a lot of students in our group and just can't swing bottle service (believe me, I tried). There are enough guys that just want to pre-game, pay cover, and not order more than a drink or two.

That's another reason why Haze sounded appealing - could just walk over after pre-gaming. But if getting there early wasn't going to save us from a heavy grease and possibly not getting everyone in, it just wouldn't be worth it.

If not that blows, My group is getting bottle service at TAO anyhow but wanted to use the wristband for LAVO & TAO beach... hopefully Donnie.LAVO can confirm

Yeah, I was told no weekend wristbands from March to October.
