  • Wynn/Encore Security deposit

Can anyone tell me how much Wynncore charge per night for the security deposit? The one they refund you after you leave.

Since they don't bill you for the room when you make the reservation, it means I can't pay it off before I get to Vegas, so I'm trying to figure out whether I'll have a high enough balance left on my card to be able to pay it. Being a student I'm unfortunately stuck with relatively low-limit cards, which for situations like this is quite inconvenient.

    Thanks

Why stay at the Wynn then?

Last time I was at the Wynn, the room was paid for in advance (didn't book through Wynn Website), so all that was left to take care of was the Resort Fee, which back then I think was $35 a day.

Because it's an awesome hotel? I can afford it, it's just because I don't have a regular fixed income that I can't get a higher limit card. I'd pay it on a debit card if they'd let me.

And yeah, I did the same when I stayed there for Halloween so it wasn't an issue then.

Contact the hotel and make arrangements to pay for the room in advance. They will send you an authorization form to fill out and usually ask for a copy of your card and ID and have you fax it all to them. It's the same process as if you were paying for a guest to stay at a hotel but you aren't traveling with them. Another option is to contact the hotel and ask them how much they hold on your card upon checkin.

I don't know about Wynn, but Mandalay Bay pre authorizes $100 per day your credit card when you check in.

Wynn/Encore will pre-auth the entire amount of your stay (incl. Resort Fee) +$150/night.

              So if I was paying $200/night, it'd be 200+150+20?

Would they pre-auth the charges on my debit card? That'd work fine.

It's not an issue as long as I get it all back haha. I can call and ask, but getting put on hold when calling internationally on a cell phone gets expensive.

Just called Wynn for you and they pre-authorize $150 per night + the total of your stay upon checkin. If you have a resort room, they also authorize $20 per night resort fee but not for the tower rooms. So if ur staying four nights in a resort room at $200, they will authorize $600 + taxes (assuming you already paid the first night upon securing your reservation) plus $80 (resort fee) + $150 per night additional on your card. Hope that helps. She didn't specify any difference between using a credit or debit card but they usually charge more for debit cards.
