Bottle Service at XS

I was talking to one of these third-party companies that set up bottle service at various clubs. He said that bottle service for 6 people, assuming 2 bottle minimum of ~$900 would run more like $1500-1600 after tax/tip. I was thinking more like $1200-1300 all in? Is he just bs'ing me?

Don't use 3rd party companies. The reason he quoted you $1500-$1600 is because $300-$400 is going into their own pocket. 2btl of goose at XS is roughly $1200-$1300 after tax and tip.

Stay away from 3rd party host, and only use the hosts listed in the Free Direct Contacts tab or Host Appreciation thread.

We don't advocate 3rd party hosts in general and prefer to use direct hosts.

All-in
900 for bottles+ tax/ automatic waitress tip.... brings you to about 1200. Throw in $200 for the host (of course you can tip more or less depending on how you think service is, if he meets you personally, table location etc) and then $20 for security if you have one and $20 for the runner. You're at about 1460 under this tipping scenario.

thanks. I did think $1500-1600 sounded excessive. as for tipping the host, etiquette-wise, when does that happen? at the end of the night? do we have to find him/her?

at the beginning either when you meet or after he walks you to your table. If you don't meet the host that booked you, I reduce the amount I give to the person that does walk me in. If I meet the host and there's a handoff I give some to both. No looking for the host, they should be coming to you. So no contact = no $ in my mind.

We are deciding between bottle service at Tao or XS. Both same prices and 2 bottle minimum, but XS it's seated outside patio and I know this Saturday's going to be not only cold but potentially one of the maybe 5 days a year it rains in the desert! I've never been to XS and only seen pictures of the patio. Are the tables open up to the sky such that it could get rained on? Never thought this would be an issue in Vegas. We probably don't want to risk paying a bunch of $ only to get rained on.

I've been to Tao a bunch of times and don't remember any outdoor seating (other than Tao beach during the summer, but I think it's closed right now). As for table location, I'm sure 2 bottles won't get us in the middle of the action, but I assume it'll at lesat be inside and away from the elements.
