I am curious if anybody has any news or speculation on the potential HRH foreclosure. We are booking a trip now for the first weekend in March, and Hard Rock is super cheap. Should we take the gamble (pun intended) and book it or should we look at other properties? I do not want to book it and then be screwed if they go into foreclosure in a couple weeks.
    Any insight would be great!!

Hard Rock's not only super cheap, but super fun! I've posted much of the on-going "public" info concerning the Hard Rock's financial issues on this site. While they're indeed swimming in debt (very few aren't right now), it's impossible to imagine the place being closed. I stay there once a month and will be there later this week for 3 days. The place is a blast and the pool-area ought to be opened in mid-March. The property is still well-maintained and staffed.

I've stayed at almost every major property in town, including Wynn & Encore, and I prefer the Hard Rock to all of them. Perhaps I've chosen the wrong "horse", but I don't think so... I honestly believe that even if foreclosure proceedings move forward, it'll only result in new management or some other form of restructuring which will improve the bottom line. But what do I know, I don't work there and have no inside knowledge, I just know I love my visits there.

Seriously, you think it could be an issue that soon?

Even if they go into foreclosure and/or bankruptcy before you get here, the property will keep operating and your reservation would be honored.

None of the involved parties have any interest in ceasing operations. The lender who wanted to foreclose even went out of their way to clarify this:

The odds of you showing up in March and finding the place boarded up are slim to nil.

Yes, they may be closed by this time next year, or even by the end of summer, but if/when that happens we will get plenty of advance notice of a closing date, or at least some more dire warning signs than we've seen so far.

The place isn't going to board up between now and early March. Make your res if you haven't and enjoy it.

+1, the place won't be closed. The only thing I'd be worried about is maybe service level (low staff morale, short staffed from any potential layoffs, etc)

I say get it while you can.

As others have stated, they aren't going to close before summer. If anything, HR makes a killing during the summer because of REHAB, so if they were going to close (not likely) it will probably be AFTER summer

Just returned from three-(3) days at the HRH. For those of you who think morale is down, staffing is low and the place is a ghost town. WRONG!!!!!

The staff seems to be trying extra hard to please... everyone from the front desk staff (HRH Tower) to the bartenders and dealers to the wait staff at Mr. Lucky's were on their "A" game. The place was hoppin'! Love the new sports-book... what a great addition! The restaurants were full and the bars were lively. Rumors of the Hard Rock's demise are prematue my friends.
