  • which hotel best suit's me? venetian or MGM

We have reservations at both and i need to cancel one. i've always wanted to stay at the Venetian but don't want to be out of place i'm not a super high roller if you know what i mean. We have a clebrity spa suite at the MGM set up and a luxury suite at the Venetian which i'll only pay about 100 more for 4 nights.

i'm more of a minimum craps table guy usually $10-15 tables and only come in with about a limit of $500 a night to the table. are there $10 tables at the venetian or is it more like the Wynn and Bellagio higher stakes? i like to go downstairs and gamble while i wait for my wife to get ready which can take forever so i want to be able to find decent tables. I know what they are like at MGM cause that's where i usually stay.

we have a rental car so it doesn't really matter about location except it is probably easier to get in and out of the MGM. We are going to be hitting up both LAVO and TAO but that doesn't really mean much because we will drive down there and taxi it back then walk over in the morning?

    Anyone have any suggestions?

If you're going on a weekend you'll most likely find $15 minimums instead of $10 tables at the Venetian/Palazzo. When I walked into MGM last month during AVN/CES weekend I saw a few $10 tables.

The last time I stayed at MGM was a long time ago when I was still a kid so I don't really remember how the rooms are, but I have stayed at Venetian numerous times and enjoy that all the rooms are suites.

In regards to the Venetian gambling environment, I think you'll feel comfortable. I too play craps with a budget similar to yours and don't feel as if I'm out of place.

You're not going to be walking to Venetian from MGM...

I go with Venetian hands down. Easy access to TAO/LAVO, and the wynn/encore clubs are a short walk away too.

pssh...it's not that bad of a walk...though you might need to cab it back to MGM when you're ready to leave if you've had too much to drink

actually we would just drive the rental over at night for TAO or LAVO then catch a cab back afterwards. Then walk the strip in the morning checking things out and just pick up the car to drive back. but don't think i'll need to do that. i think we will just stay at the venetian after all
