They took a BATH when their tower in City Center never got developed nor did it open... it sits there still.. glass and metal... and getting taken down in 2012.. so.. this is hard to believe.. BUT.. its possible

wow...they're actually deconstructing the tower?? you would think that someone would step in on a lowball price and take over operations of it...at least mgm management or whatever they're called now wouldn't take the loss PLUS the cost to knock it down! crazy!

nevermind, just read in that article posted by the OP about the steel issues, etc. sucks!! lol
Well, at least maybe the CityCenter will look a little bit less dead without the abandoned Harmon Hotel sitting there. On that note, what ever happened to the Veer Towers? Those things actually open? Last time I walked by, they still looked... abandoned, as well
I've been to Vegas several times... Never been to the Rio. It's just a bad location. You would never walk there. What's there? The stripper pool got shutdown... right?

That's what everyone said about The Palms. Too far off the strip. But it works. So, I think it is possible but they would need a complete rebranding and remodel.

I think they'll actually leave the Harmon there for some time, at least as long as it takes to settle the lawsuits.
I think the Rio is an odd choice, but you never know. Its one thing to acquire a major casino property in las Vegas, its another thing to acquire one and have enough capital to also do a complete renovation. That's something that seems like it would take some time... Even when the larger corporations that own multiple casino properties acquire a new property they can't just strip it and remodel immediately.
Yes, I work with the Light Group, no they don't tell us anything about this, so anything I say is speculation or opinion.

Ya Sapphires pool was shut down after i think only one season some "illegal activities" going on there. Who would have thought eh???!!! LOL I heard trafficking, in what I leave that to your imaginations! Ya I would have never gone out to the Palms if it was not a "hot" destination.
