  • Bottle service newbie question(s)

Six friends and I heading to Vegas in a few weeks with plans to go to Vanity on a Saturday night. For most of us this will our first time getting bottle service and using a host so I have a few questions. Is there automatically a per table/person minimum spend? Is there room for negotiation on the bottle quantity and/or a buy two/get one arrangement? If so, what would the vets consider to be a good deal to iron out beforehand? Also, does getting bottle service automatically mean no cover or is that another negotiation to be had?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Bottle service meas no cover no wait (well you wait for your host or for other bottle tables to be seated before you and don't worry, you'll be spending lots $$$$ on the bottles to make up for for the lack of cover lol).

General rule is 1 bottle per 3-4 people. 7 people could probably swing 2 bottles. Might be 3 if it's really popular night/weekend. Everything is negotiable the more you are willing to provide the hosts in tips.

You take care of the hosts and they will take care of you. Deals are always to be had, but like Drew said it depends if it is a popular weekend/night. Just talk to a host, use ***** Sweet he has helped numerous members out and see what he can do for you. His info can be found in the "host appreciation" thread.

Thanks for the response. From your comment above I am a bit confused on how to proceed. If I ask for a buy two get one free arrangement beforehand is it just assumed we'll take care of him that night for the consideration or do we initially buy two bottles, tip him early in the night and hope a third bottle comes out comped?

Also, does bottle service come with a selection of mixers or are those al la carte?

You try to negotiate it all beforehand. Txt *****, give him details of your group (#, groups size, when you're going), any preferences you may have (table by danceloor etc, although some table locations may be higher $$$). He'll reply with a quote. You can ask if there are any possible deals in your initial text or your reply back.

Thanks, I'll make contact with ***** and see what he says.

I read elsewhere in the forum that the bottle service menu automatically adds a 20% gratuity plus tax to the night's bill. Is this going to the wait staff and completely separate from what we should give the host in cash?

              Yep. 20% automatically added usually
              Host tip is separate
Also, you should throw $20 to the security guy (if there is one for your table) and the runner (guy who helps server by bringing/clearing glasses, bringing ice etc)

Thanks again for all the info and quick replies.

                Two more questions:
What do you base the host's tip on? Flat amount? Per head? Total spend? I don't want to come off looking cheap but have no idea what is customary.

Are the mixers a la carte? I assume Red Bull would be extra.

Some good questions and great answers, these queries seem to come up quite a bit.

I know I'm new here but how about an idiots guide stickied to first time BS? I know there is a bit on the main site but it doesn't really talk figures which most first timers and out of towners/foreign visitors need to know as not to upset someone who is doing them a good deal.
                  Posting on a different timezone.

At a minimum I give $100. General rule of thumb for good service is about $100 per bottle. But you can pay less or more depending on how helpful you think he is and how much he's doing (helps reduce min, prompt helpful service, etc) If he's not walking you in or you don't see him, give the guy who walks you to the table less.

Also, you may negotiate end up negotiating a certain tip amount hand for certain table locations at certain clubs etc.

But then you wouldn't have time to respond to the text, calls, smoke signals of JC members needing your assistance.
