Sandwich Trick @ MGM Grand?!

Has anybody tried the sandwich trick @ MGM Grand to get comped to a better room (eg. suite) and been successful at it?

I'll be trying my chance this weekend with possibly $40.

Let me know of any success stories and/or failure stories!

Its where you make the person on the check in desk a sandwich, in the hope of getting a better room then you've paid for...

I'd reccomend using relish if you want to get a suite.

I've tried twice at MGM with no success, there are so many factors...time of day, day of week, how much you are paying for the room (or so it seems). There is a site that just tracks the $20 trick success rate at Vegas hotels, Idon't remember the name but I do remember that MGM Grand had one of the lowest success rates. All of that being said, I will try it again in a few weeks!

Worked for me during Halloween of 2009. Got upgraded to a bungalow suite

I have always just asked for an upgrade and that works for me. Try and find a young girl behind the desk or just start chatting up whoever helps me. It's worked at MGM, Mirage, Palms, NYNY, Luxor.

I actually spoke with a clerk there before. They said they're not allowd to and will be fired if they took the bribe.
