  • Surrender -- Ulta Lounge or Mega Club?

I'm been browsing the forum trying to get a feel for Surrender. Some posts lead me to believe that it is a mega club, others suggested it was an ultra-lounge.

What I am really looking for is a new ultra-lounge (ala Blush) if any exist. I have already hit all the old stand-bys (Blush, Tabu, Forty Deuce, Lavo, Mixx, Revolution, Caramel, Ghost Bar, Foundation Room, etc.).

Not wanting a mega-club -- a little too long in the teeth these days to fit in (wife I and are in our low 40's now -- UGH!!!), but still like to get out and rip it up on occasion.

If there is nothing new, we may end up hitting one of the old haunts, but hoping there is something new out there.

Not looking for a casino bar. Want a place with a door (not something you roll right into from the casino like Eye Candy). We do want table service, would like a dance floor.

Any new options? What is Surrender all about?

    Thanks.

    Hey Spock!
I took my daughter to Surrender for her 21st birthday and I am also "40 something" I had a ball! Steve Aoki was DJ-ing. Yes, lots of the younger crowd as one would expect..... I guess I didn't notice how many of "our" age group was there. I have not been to any of the other ultra lounges in Vegas so I can't do a comparison there but I certainly wouldn't call it a mega club! Hope that helps some....I'm sure others with more experience with all the clubs can give you more-just giving you one opinion. MikeyT on here is the guy to find for service at Surrender! He is a real sweetie!
I feel sorry for people who don't drink, when they get up in the morning, that's best they're gonna feel all day!

Surrender is full of classy people of all ages, in fact last time I was there I saw some rich guy with table beside the dance floor full of super well-dressed 50-somethings having a total blast. Theres lots of action on the dance floor but you can get a total lounge experience too.

Spock, Surrender is not a mega-club...it's smaller but still rocks like a big club. DJ's are awesome and I personally love places like Surrender that have the outdoor and indoor area...always adds another dimension to have the outdoor space. The vibe is super cool and you'll have a great time. Wednesday nights are a lot of fun there. Mikey is your man to get set up with tables...

How about the age factor? What is your opinion? Will a couple in their low 40's be out of place here? We always feel totally comfortable at a place like Blush (and even Ghostbar) but from the looks of the people in line at XS these days, we would be totally out of place there -- but I do miss those days.

            Thanks.

Nah you wont look out of place. Even at XS you don't look as out of place since XS is all about $$$. There's a reason why you're seeing the young people in line. THe older richer people are already inside at the tables.

I don't know women's fashion well enough to give specifics but would suggest a few things:

                  1. Don't try to dress like you are a 20 something. No miniskirts (do they still call them that?) or anything of the sort.

                  2. No gowns

                  3. No pant suits

                  4. Something trendy but not over the top.

                  5. Comments 1 & 4 apply to jewelry too....

Oh, and if she is attractive, don't be surprised if she gets more attention than a lot of 23 year old hotties....A lot of men find it a lot less intimidating approaching women who are a little older -- there is also a curiosity factor.

I'm sure some drunk will try to check off the mother/daughter item on their bucket list too.

                  Have fun.

Do you think a cute top, little jacket and jeans w flats is too much? will they allow that in?

as for the mother/daughter.... Im just gonna say... no way!

When we went to the clubs with my mom she wore a cocktail type dress (black) one night and a dressy pants the other. I think what you described will be fine-dress it up with jewelry! Have a great time!
