Agree with The Wire - amazing show that kept a gripping story while retaining authenticity. And concur with Mad Men - great plot, character development, and writing.

For comedy right now, I'd go with Community & It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

I need to find a new drama now that 24 is off the air. The suggestion of another poster that Fringe is like a combination of 24 and the X-Files has me intrigued.
