  • Indoor/Outdoor clubs in the winter

I've noticed that XS, Tryst, and Surrender get a lot of compliments on this site. I'm actually considering going to all 3 of these clubs while my group is in Vegas next month.

But I was looking at the weather, and it appears that the temp still gets down into the 30's in Vegas in January, and so I'm curious what these clubs are like with the cold weather. All 3 have pools outside, and so I'm wondering if they drain them or keep them heated in the winter. It seems that none of these clubs would look nearly as cool with empty pools.

Also, does it really stay warm enough to sit at a table outside at these places? I would be really upset if I spent $2000, got a table outside, and all of the girls with me were freezing all night. It would be even worse if I reserve tables at all 3 of these places, and we run into this problem all 3 nights of our trip.

So what are XS, Tryst, and Surrender like during the winter? It seems my backup clubs would be Rain, Vanity, and Lavo if the outdoor clubs aren't a good idea.

The pools never get drained, they stay full year round. Most clubs with large outdoor areas bring in a TON of heaters to keep everybody warm and they do a great job. The clubs can't stay competitive in the winter if everyone is freezing their asses off!

This is kind of what I thought. You don't spend $100 million on a club and let if die off in the winter. But I had noticed just a couple reviews on Yelp that had mentioned it being cold or mentioned the pool being "closed". Guess they just meant there was no swimming. But then I found a video from Tryst NYE 2009 and it showed the waterfall still on.

I did find a press release from Surrender however that said they cover the pool to add 5,000 sqft of dance floor, and bring in 150 outdoor heaters. They obviously recognize and take care of the cold weather problem.

Went to Surrender in late November and had an outdoor table and the low that night even got down to the 30s or something crazy.

Didn't have any issue with staying warm. The staff placed 2 heaters right next to the table for the girls in my group and we were fine for the whole night. Honestly, I don't think anyone will truly care once the liquor starts flowing LOL.

My girlfriends and I went to both this past weekend and we were definitely freezing our butts off. Of course, we were wearing next to nothing though...But, I was hoping the heat lamps would have been more effective.

Good to know! Which club(s) were you at?
We are headed to Surrender Friday night. Thinking XS Sunday but have some other options as well.....
I feel sorry for people who don't drink, when they get up in the morning, that's best they're gonna feel all day!

I was really worried about this as I'll have 4 girls with me. Hmm. I already reserved bottle service for Tryst on Friday and XS on Saturday. Hopefully we'll get indoor tables since I'm buying 5 bottles been the 2 nights and dealing with Patrick both nights.

We went to XS and Surrender. The indoor area at Surrender is smaller than the indoor area at XS. @ Surrender the promotors hooked us girls up with an outdoor cabana. It wasn't too bad in there, but we definitely stayed inside the cabana most of the evening to avoid the cold.

We got the cabana/bottle service and open bar b/c a promotor for Lavo referred us to a promotor for Surrender (we didn't even ask him to do that for us!). The girls who are invited to Surrender got free apps and champagne @ a bar in the Wynn before the club opened. It was great! As a result of promotor #1, we were getting texts from all kinds of promotors asking us what we wanted to do during the week. We got lots of offers for open bar/bottle service (there's no way we could have taken advantage of all of them).

We initially met our go-to promotor just by walking through the Venetian. He approached us and we got bottle service @ Lavo. If you're w/ a group of good-looking girls, I guarantee you'll get approached! But, if you want a number, let me know.

I was at both XS and Surrender in mid December and both places were popping. Besides the heaters, a lot of people end up hanging out inside most of the time. So, if you're getting a table, don't get a cabana outside...get a table inside.

Tryst is def. fine for winter as most of it is really indoors anyways.

For the free cabana you got, was it your cabana or was it a guys cabana and the hosts were just bringing in girls for them (very common in Vegas)?
