Guestlist sign up on club websites?

I notice on the websites for some websites (like Moon and Vanity), they have a guest list sign up form. Is this the same as contacting the promoters on jackcolton.com? Or is it better to just use the contacts here?

in general, slow nights they work fine. Other times you say you're on the guest list and you'll just get pointed to the "guestlist" line that happens to be super long.

I recommend doing both, putting your name on the website and contacting the hosts here. It works so much better when you can say "i'm on j roc's guestlist"

from my experience, some of the "guestlist" signups on the websites are more that they put you on their email list rather than actually on the guestlist for the event. a few years ago I signed up for the TAO Beach "guestlist" through the TAO website and when I got there they had no idea what I was talking about. luckily I was a Venetian guest that trip so I showed my key and got in for free anyways. never had a problem with the contacts on this site though, so that is definitely the way i'd go. it's much better to know who's list you are on than to say "i signed up online" and not have any idea who may have managed that list.
