Advice on Vegas in January 2011.

I need some detailed advice from the seasoned veterans of Vegas.

We are a group of 8 guys from Australia heading to Vegas in Mid January 2011. We will be there from a Wednesday to Monday (Partying Wednesday night through to Sunday night). We are after a mix of experiences; want to see the big clubs buzzing with heaps of people and tourists etc and we want experience more relaxed chilled styles of clubs with more locals. I have seen the recommendations on this site and have taken this into consideration, but would like to get opinions from people who are in the know. From speaking to the groups we have agreed that we all want to hit up TAO for a night. So could we get opinions on where to head on

Wednesday Night-
Thursday Night-
Friday Night- TAO?
Saturday Night-
Sunday Night-

Has anyone heard of Foundation Room and what’s that like?

My second question relates to table service, if we are arriving in Mid January when do people recommend we book out tables at each club? Should it be done now? or when we arrive in Vegas (the disadvantage of booking one now in our eyes, would be if we arrive and decide that we want to go somewhere else that particular night but we concede that it may be booked out if we don’t book one now, would this be true for January)

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely take this advice! I might throw Marquee in the mix if it lives up to its hype (will know 1/1/11)!

Keep in mind these suggestions mostly fall to the first part of the experience "heaps of people" etc

The relaxed chill place with all locals.. that's less of focus here. There are industry nights, but they stilll get packed with people from all over. We have some locals here that might be able to help more with the 2nd part you are looking for.

As for booking, best is to start conversation say a couple weeks in advance, book about a week, and confirm day of/day before.

Can't believe I forgot about Marquee, def add that to Fri-Sun. Also, if you want a spot where locals go, then I believe the area is called "Town Square", where there are a lot lounge type bars/clubs which is a few miles away from the strip.

Town Square I believe is about a mile or two south of Mandalay Bay. They have a Yardhouse there along w/ other lounges n stuff
