Ladies Night .. a thing of the past

Just found this article while I was looking for "ladies nights" (and I couldn't really find anything!).. and this is might be a reason why..

Ladies’ Night, which usually means women get in free on certain nights to bars, night clubs, free drinks, etc, may soon be a thing of the past in Vegas.

Apparently a local lawyer didn’t like Las Vegas Athletic Club’s “Ladies Join Free” promotion and has filed a complaint against the gym, and the eventual ruling could have an impact on how bars and clubs treat the popular promo.

What do you think? To be fair I can see why there’s grumbling about a group of people being allowed somewhere free of charge because of their gender, on the other hand it’s always been my understanding that the clubs and bars do that because they know it’ll attract the guys who normally wouldn’t frequent it anyway.

Personally, I dont like anyone telling me what I can, and cant do with MY company. People are too damn sensitive these days. If you dont like what the company is doing, dont give them your business. This is about as bad as the guy suing hooters.

From my perspective, and most girls that I go out with.. When I think of the money I've spent to get my hair done, nails, pedicure, the shoes, the dresses, the makeup, accessories, tanning and gym membership to get in shape for THE dress.. it costs a lot for a girl to go out! Those drink and entrance incentives can balance themselves out and make it worth it for us.

Most guys put on a nice shirt and shoes and they are ready to roll.

But again, my costs aren't gender-specific either.

I agree with dnix on the principles, but a work-around is to have a $1 charge for ladies on their night. So all is not lost.

The club owners should be able to do whatever they want. If they want to let in chicks for free, they should be able to. Just as if they wanted to be able to let in anybody with red hair, green eyes, or three legs. They should be able to do whatever they please.

If people really don't like it, they won't go; thus forcing the clubs to not discriminate against males.

Just let the club owners do whatever they want with their club, and have the market be the driving factor.

But I agree with DNIX, it is your business, so you can do what you want regarding patrons. If customers don't like it, the demand will not be there for that business, and it will fail.

I agree. I spend money on all of those same things. Except tanning. I dont care for the fake tan. Unless these girls are spending $1000+ on "the dress", they have a long way to go to catch me in the wardrobe department.

Id like to see all the clubs give women free drinks. Thats what would balance things out, and save the men a lot of money.

I think women should get in free and get all the drinks they want. That will either make a crazy fun night at a club or a club full of guys waiting for women to show up.

Every night is ladies night get over it! Haha. I remember when clubs had one line guys and girls both waited and paid. Now girls get so pampered (guys fault) that if they have to wait in line, pay a cover or pay for drinks they make sure to let you know how dissatisfied they are! LOL.

The evolution of the club it's natural. Ladies have evolved to move in like vultures on a carcas charming their way with a big butt and a smile to your 500 dollar bottle or your open bar tab. Then like a thief in the night all that's left is dust, gone.

I love talking to women at a bar and hearing how "independent" they are, how they don't need a guy for anything, and then watch them proceed to flirt their way to drinks all night. It's even better when they don't get a drink and later that night they bitch about how they had to pay for like 2 whole drinks.

I will not buy a girl a drink unless

A.) I know her
B.) I just met her that night but we've had over 30 minutes of intelligent conversation.

So many guys think that buying girls drinks is going to get them somewhere. I prefer to let those guys buy the girls drinks, and then move in after. (I just want to clarify that no, i'm not a cheap ass or the guy in the other thread that doesn't pay his share for bottles at a club )

I totally think that girls either get dressed up for themselve, or for other girls.

If people were so opposed to these incentives, where are there hundreds of people lined up each night to get inside those establishments, guys and girls?
