  • Cleanliness / Appearance LV Hotel Rooms

I must say... The rooms I've had in Vegas have been the cleanest / best appearance / well maintained rooms I have been in. And always for the best price.

I have stayed at... MGM, NYNY, Mandalay, Bellagio, Mirage, Luxor and Palms. All more than once... and different levels of rooms.

I've been traveling to NYC lately and the rooms there have been horrible... and the cost... my god. Even Chicago.

Now, I understand you can drop some cash and stay at a top notch place in any city. But the places I listed... I have never paid more than $100 a night. Thanks to my players club.

I'll take NYNY over the W in midtown or a 4 star hotel near the UN building.

It just seems to me Las Vegas stresses clean maintained rooms... and the staff does a great job.

I totally agree, the price and quality for Vegas hotels is top notch. Even the higher end places like Wynn/Encore... the price you pay there will get you a 15x15 pos rooom in manhattan.

The main reason for this (a partial assumption on my part) is because said hotels have casinos to subsidize the costs of maintenance and renovations, in addition to the money received from room rates. Also, there are SO many options in a few mile radius in Vegas you have a vast choice of room styles/prices/location as opposed to NYC where you are pretty much stuck with less options. Plus the turn over of rooms in NYC is greater than LV (about 4 million more people a year).

That's a good point about the cash from the casinos. I applaud those in charge for making room cleanliness... the job the housekeeping staff does... a priority.

How many of you leave a 20 spot on the night stand on your final exit of the room? I know I do .

            I always leave a 5 every morning and a 20 on day of check-out.

I will tip if the cleaning staff does a good job. I've not usually had problems but the last time I was in Vegas we stated at the Excalibur. The "non-smoking" room stunk like stale cigarette smoke, the room was old, dirty, and the neighbors across the hallway had some sort of loud loud party until about 3 am when we asked the front desk to tell them to turn it down. The answer we got? "Oh give them another half an hour and they will fall asleep"....WTF? Needless to say, next AM I was downstairs talking to a manager and got 3 out of our 5 nights comped, and the other two cost like $27 lol.

I'm glad they made up for it, but it shouldn't have happened. When I say the room was dirty, I mean the sheets were clean but not 100% on the bed proper, towels were hung but not folded etc...we were shocked!
