  • Got any advice about LAX?

My wife and I are going to Vegas Dec 3-6. We are going with some of my wife's friends. We are staying at the Luxor. I would have chosen a different place, but my wife's friends got their rooms first and they chose Luxor and my wife wanted to be by them. Soooo, we got a suite at the Luxor.

They all want to go to LAX Saturday night Dec 4. So I am coming here to get any insight about LAX. Any info is appreciated. We want to get bottle service, but wanted to know if anyone has any tips for us. We are from Denver and get tables here, but I know Vegas is different and we have not been there for 5 years. How much would we be looking at? $350 a bottle per 3-4 people? If we get a bottle do we get the table for the night and order drinks from the waitress?

Again, any info is appreciated in regard to bottle service/table, or just general info or tips about LAX.

    Thanks!

I am wondering the exact same thing, except for this coming weekend. Would appreciate anyone's response.

LAX is considered a second tier club but you can still have fun there, it's Vegas! It wouldn't be my first choice because it's small and gets extremely packed on weekends. The tables are really close together too and the crowd is not the greatest. I'm really not selling this place right now lol but they do play a lot of rap so if you like rap you're in luck. Umm yeah on second thought try to convince the group to go somewhere else.

I've always had a lot of fun at LAX even though people here don't really like it. Never got a table there before, but wouldn't really be any different than table service at other clubs. Be sure to contact the host listed on the site and also ask about potential bottle deals. Lower tier clubs are more open to bottle deals like b2g1.

Prices generally start higher than $350. You're looking at about $450 per bottle for 3-4 people. More people more botles. Then you have to add on 18-20% waitress tip (automatic most of the time), 12% tax, plus say a $100 tip per bottle to the host, then $10-20 for the table security and runner. It can add up but it's worth it.

You generally get the table all night. You can order cocktails from the waitress, but if you're group is mixed in terms of people paying, I'd recommend only getting the required bottles, collecting the money divided by everyone, and having people order other drinks from the bar. Otherwise it can be a nightmare to figure out the bill among the group.

So do I tip all of those people individually or throw it all in with the bill?

You tip the host $100 per bottle?

I would want to avoid splitting the bill at the end of the night like you say and collect the money from my friends at the start. You said to order drinks from the bar after the bottles, but my question is won't the waitress get pissed about people buying drinks from the bar and not her?

How would somebody know to tip all of those people if they did not do their research?

Tip everyone individually. Tipping the host, it depends on what kind of deal he gets you and what table location you get. You can just order your drinks from waitress, and if memory serves right....LAX has a table minimum not a bottle min, so BS isn't required.

$100 per bottle is just a general yardstick. Some tip less, some tip a lot more especially if you want a prime location (sometimes they'll explicitly tell you how much handshake a certain location will require). Tip everyone individually, the tip on the bill is the waitress portion of the tip.

As for the runners/security, many people don't tip them, but it usually helps facilitate better service if you do.

As for the waitress, nah they won't get mad at people buying drinks at the bar , she's getting a healthy tip from the table already and I'd venture to say, they prefer to just serve bottles.

LAX does just have a table minimum. Since that is the case, how much do we tip the host? We will either have a table of 4 or 8.

Also, what if we have friends at the club, but not paying for the table. Can they stop by and hang out at the table? Are the tables in a separate area? You mentioned the table security, do they stop non payers from getting to the tables?

Lastly, what are the odds they will do a b2g1?

you can bring anyone to your table you want. A lot of people lower their bottle mins that way, by just doing bottle service for guys and having the girls in the group go in via guestlist and joining the table after. The security keeps whoever you dont want out.

Not to thread jack, but what other places have a table minimum as opposed to bottle minimum?

I just booked a table at Tao through Bob Shindelar (contact info on this website) and depending on location, you end having a table minimum...i.e. the more baller the location of the table, the higher the minimum.
