Mirage/Bare/Tao/XS, etc... Trip Report - May 14-17th...

My wife and I and another couple were in Vegas May 14th-17th and had a great trip. I’ll hit the highlights for everyone.

We stayed at the Mirage and hit Bare all three days. Thursday was solid, Friday was very good and Saturday was ridiculous. As usual, my wife was a part of the entertainment out at the pool each day, especially on Saturday, but I didn’t mind. We all had a blast out there. Mickey Ward and those guys/girls always take good care of us, and I’m a huge Bare fan, especially when it’s packed like it was Friday and Saturday. Thursday is locals day so it’s always a bit more laid back. I also have to give a shout out to my boy Benito, who made sure nobody messed with our girls while they were entertaining the crowd. We’re going to take him out with us for private security next time the four of us come to town.

Thursday night we hit Stack for dinner and then headed to Tao. We booked a table in the main room overlooking the dance floor through Mike Mancari and it also gave our girls access to the stage area next to the dance floor. It took a bit longer than usual for Tao to fill up considering it was Thursday night, but it eventually was a packed house and a memorable night.

After spending all day Friday at Bare, we grabbed a limo and headed to N9NE at the Palms for dinner, which is always a great choice. The atmosphere was great and dinner was fun, but my steak was a bit disappointing compared to my last meal there. While at the Palms, we hit Ghost Bar for one drink mainly just to check out the view. After dinner we hit XS. This was the first time there for all of us, and I must say it’s overwhelming when you first walk in because of how big and how nice it is. This has to be one of Steve Wynn’s proudest accomplishments in a long line of many to be proud of.

Our table at XS was inside pretty close to the dance floor and right beside one of their “main” stripper poles. We booked it through Steven Tomes, who used to work for Bare. This was exactly what our girls wanted and would have been perfect. However, about 15 minutes after we got there, a group of about 40 guys were seated next to us in a space meant for about 15, so every time our girls hit the pole said guys thought they were their personal entertainment. They would gawk, put their $20 bills in their mouth, etc…, so it ruined that portion of the night. Anyway, we still managed to have a great time, although there is no doubt it would have been a different story if the large group of guys wasn’t there.

After a sick day at Bare on Saturday, we grabbed a limo and headed to the Wynn to see Le Reve, which is a show I highly recommend. Some of the performers are literally superhuman from a strength standpoint, and the whole show was enjoyable. Our seats were in the champagne circle and my wife proceeded to drink a whole bottle by herself, so the rest of the night was phenomenal . After the show we took a limo to the Bellagio to eat at Fix and were joined by another couple we had met earlier in the day at Bare. Good meal to end the trip. We had initially planned to go The Bank after dinner, but we decided to bail on it since we flew out the next morning. We did see Dirk Nowitzki and his crew walking to The Bank as we were leaving Fix, which was pretty cool.

Anyway, the whole trip was awesome and ranks right up there with my best vacations ever. I’m headed back there next month with a group of guys, so I don’t have to wait too long to get my Vegas fix once again.

When my friend did XS he had tons of fun out in one of the Cabanas.

good times, unfortunately douches dont have respect and just allow you guys to have a good time! I always said the the performers in those shows (lareve) should be the ones making 5 million a show, not brad pitt for dancing around in front of a still camera ....they are UNBELIEVABLE performers and risk their lives every time out!! sounds like you guys/gals had a great time, great review

More details ? Hahahah one can only imagine. It sounds like you have a smokin lady and it's pretty cool she can set the party mood at bare. Hopefully it rubbed off on the other ladies??

Oh how in the hell did so many guys sit in a small area? They must of really came out of pocket. They couldn't get there own action among the crowd? Too bad. Glad you kept your cool, then again most women do like attention, haha.

LOL...well, let's just say the limo ride from the Wynn to the Bellagio was one I'll always remember quite vividly. And, yeah, my wife was able to get several other hot ladies involved at Bare, especially on Saturday. At one point I looked out and saw about 20 cell phones in the air with cameras running.

Oh how in the hell did so many guys sit in a small area? They must of really came out of pocket. They couldn't get there own action among the crowd? Too bad. Glad you kept your cool, then again most women do like attention, haha.

Some of them were able to sit, but most of them just stood there crowded around their tables and the stripper pole. There is no doubt they dropped some serious cash. I'd say they had at least a 10 bottle minimum, if not higher.

Awesome you get to do guy trips! How did you arrange the short trip limo's? What do they normally run cause taxi's are getting ridiculously expensive in LV, might as well kick in a couple extra bucks and go in style. Are you coming back in June or July?

limos will usually wack ya $40-$60, but you dont have to wait in any lines, and you could always negotiate with them....for me its the way to go cause nothing worse than sitiing on a 45 min taxi line at 4am....it just aint happening!!

the palms can actually be the worst in terms of wait time. Ive actually got it down to a schedule to come and go during down times to avoid it

Pretty much every casino has a taxi line and a limo line out front, and there is typically nobody in the limo line. Town cars are also usually available for a little less than limos. Most range from $49 to $79 per hour plus tip, so it was a no brainer for us. Definitely the way to go if you can swing the extra cash.

Yeah there's never a line for limos. The only downside is you need to always pay the one hour minimum.

Do you find yourself getting better service because you're going as a couple?

One thing I noticed is that in big groups of douche, the nightclubs will roll girls into their table to drain their bottles. Once the bottles are gone, on average, the girls are gone. (I've seen it at Body English, Pure, XS and Tryst! Never fails!)

As far as taking a S.O. to Vegas, I think it depends on the kind of relationship you have. I'm fortunate enough to be married to an awesome girl who loves to have fun and we always get along. This was her first time in Vegas and she can't wait to go back, and we had a great time together. Even if you're in a strong relationship, there is still obviously a place for all guys/girls trips. I'll be doing it next month, as a matter of fact.

As for the champagne, we had a two bottle minimum at our table and only three people drinking, so we picked one bottle of Grey Goose and one bottle of champagne.

I don't think our service was any different as couples. It was actually terrible at Tao the first night. Our waitress introduced herself, took my credit card/license, had me sign the slip with her 20% tip included and basically disappeared to work bigger tables. She came back 3-4 times to refill glasses, but we couldn't find her when we needed her. It was the worst service I've ever had at a club, but we didn't complain. We were treated better at XS, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The guys next to us at XS never quite crossed the line to where we needed security. It was mainly just their presence and how they crowded around our area and the pole because there wasn't nearly enough space at their tables. I'd literally never seen a group this big of all guys be allowed into a nightclub, particularly one as hot as XS currently is. When they were walking in it was like a football team getting off the bus. They just kept coming and coming. Money talks, though.
