  • TR: May 15-17. Hiton, Rain, and 32 hours up.

So. Had this trip planned for a while now. My wife's brother had come back from Vegas a while back and had a bad trip so we decided to take him and make up for that. Booked a 1 bedroom suite at the Las Vegas Hilton and planned out what we wanted to do.

I had work for half a day Friday which was kind of detrimental to the entire trip. I work early from 6-2:30 so I usually get up at 4 or so. So I was up at 4 Friday after staying up with my wife till midnight packing and getting everything ready. Get to work and breeze through the 4 hours and then get home to pack everything in the car and we leave to go pick people up.

    Hitting the Road:

Make a quick stop off the 15 to pick up one last friend and we take off down the 15. Always traffic around the split with the 215 as it's just a horribly designed freeway. Cruise to Barstow and hit up the McD's for some quick food and hit the road again. Smooth sailing until the 55mph zone with construction. Get past the border around 6:30 and then make that final push into Vegas.

    Checking in:

Park in the self parking, we weren't planning on driving much while there, and hit the check-in counter. Not too much of a line and we get checked in in about 10 minutes. Hit the room and wash up to get ready for the Palms. Two Jagerbombs and a Red Bull & Vodka later we are off!

    Party time:

For those that plan on hitting the Palms club scene, here's a great thing. The n9ne group offers an all access VIP pass for all 4 clubs and it's cheaper buying directly from them than to goto Vegas.com. We pickup our passes at the Stuff Store right next to Rain after cabbing it to the Palms then head to ghostbar. Kind of a line to get in but we walk to the ropes and show them our wristband and it's straight to the elevator. Get up and it's HOT and not really our age group. Head back down and decide to go into rain. We walk up and notice about 4 different lines. We are confused where to go. We ask and one is general admission, the other is for passes then we see two other people with wristbands like ours. We bundle with them and are escorted in in about 3 minutes flat.

    Rain:

Packed. DJAM is insane. Stay till about 2am and then we all gamble and party around. Recommended.

    24 hours and counting:

Get back to the Hilton around 4:30 since the line for a cab is CRAZY long at the Palms. The other guys decide to gamble more and my wife is knocked out. I had about 3 Red Bulls on the drive in, 2 Jager bombs and 2 Red Bull & Vodkas. WIDE AWAKE watching TV until 8 when everyone is back and getting ready for breakfast.

We drive to Downtown to eat at the buffet at Main Street Station because I remember it being good. Not bad and a decent price. Walk around a bit then one of my friends wanted to goto The Gun Store so we head on over. I asked an officer for directions and he gives us the intersection to goto and it's about a 1/4 mile from there. Had to ask but we found it after. PACKED and they wouldn't allow single gun rentals so we left back to the room.

Sleep at last and the LV Hilton pool:

Get back to the room and I knock out. It's 12:45 and I'm on autopilot after 32 hours straight. Wife wakes me up at 4 and we all decide to hit the pool. Not a bad pool and drinks are cheap at happy hour. Get my buzz and around 6 head back up so we can gt ready to go out again.

    Monorail!

We take the monorail to the MGM and I lose $100 at the poker room. Play some craps and make $50 back and it's time to eat. Monorail to PH area and hit the Miracle Mile shops for Cheeseburgers! Not as great as the one in Lahaina but decent. Empty so service was fast and hassle free. Lose more money here so we decide to head back to the Hilton and play until about 12 and knockout again.

    The final push home.

We all get ready and pack up the car and head over to the Flamingo for breakfast. From there we goto Serendipity and I am very disappointed in the Frozen Hot Chocolate. I guess I was just expecting something else. It's just an 8 dollar chocolate shake. Head over to Bills for cheap gambling and my wife's brother hit's roulette with $6 on one number and that's a great way to end the trip. Hit the road by 2pm and get to LA by 6.

All in all, a great trip.

Still recovering. I'll post more details about the club later on. So glad I took off work today.

No the n9ne Group sells VIP all access passes to all of their clubs in the Palms. It's a special wristband that you can order online then pickup at the Stuff store. It's about $60 + a small fee. Good for the entire night.

There were people giving out free VIP access to Prive on Saturday on the street outside the Miracle Mile shops. Didn't try it but seemed like a lot of people were getting it.

just to be clear: Nine group is a company that owns and/or manages NINE, Rain, Ghostbar, Moon/playboy. but you can get what mikejet is talking about at wanttickets.com
