  • Where to stay?

Me and my buddy are going to vegas for the first time we are 22 and 23 looking to stay somewhere relatively cheap for 5 nights.(Dec 18-24th) We were going to book Planet Hollywood but I waited a weak and now it says its completely booked the one night of our stay.

Anywhere else do you guys suggest with a young party vibe type of hotel to stay at? Is staying off the strip at the hard rock that bad? Or palms?

Hard Rock and Palms are def hotels with a party vibe. But if you stay at a off-strip hotel, you will need to cab to the strip and back. Typical cab ride was around $10, but those add up. So if you want a cheap hotel, look into the Tropicana...going through remodel and looks really nice....or go for like Imperial palace or Harrah's.

What you can do is just book Paris, it's right besides Planet Hollywood, still a great hotel, and its actually cheaper than PH as well.

I checked the dates for you and those date's are definitely available.

Here's the link to the 30% off special, http://www.mycheapvegas.com/cat.php?z=&c=31

      Cheers!

I personally wouldnt do the MGM again. Stayed there in May this year and dont get me wrong absolutely lovely hotel and great service but i think it was wasted on the type of holiday we were looking for. We are all mid 20s and i felt the hotel was aimed at a much older client.

If the price is right then go for it but i think we would have gotten just as much out of one of the cheaper hotels like the Luxor.

HardRock would be my choice out of those three anyway

Out of those, I would choose Paris because of the location. I believe the rooms are a bit smaller there though - but I haven't stayed there yet myself. But you're center strip and don't need to be in the room much at all.

First trip... stay on the strip. I have stayed all over. I think people make too big of a deal about where they are staying. You are just sleeping a few hours there... you are not married to the place. If you are working on a budget... stay where you get the best deal. I've also always had a great time staying at MGM.

Just booked a flight for 2 nights in Jan. Meeting some friends out there... staying alone. Bellagio for $200 or NYNY for $60. I took NYNY. I will use the extra bill somewhere else.

I vote Hard Rock, Casino Tower for your needs... you can get a great rate and the rooms, which are in the oldest tower have been redone and look really nice. For $60 or so a night, you're in a class joint that you'll love. Their website has a special going on right now for 35% off for Nov. & Dec.

Palms is nice too, but I think you'll spend more for a room there. I'm not big on the "stay where you get the best deal, cause you don't spend anytime in the room" notion though it has some merit. For me, it's about the whole property, as much as the room. I woke up one morning in the Circus Circus Manor (behind the actual casino). I only paid like $19 for the room, which in those days was kinda important, but I might as well got a room in a crack-house! I swear there was remenants of a chalk outline on the 70's shag carpet.

Also agree with the Tropicana, on the strip, though at the end and you'll get a good rate for a remodeled room.

I've stayed at Circus Circus once and yes the rooms suck. But honestly I wouldn't mind staying there again for a very low rate but I won't even if it was comped because it's too far North on the Strip for me as a 'home base.' -especially nowadays when there is even less in the immediate area.

I don't mind staying at MGM or NYNY when I get rates for $29 / $39 a night. But that's as low on the hotel level I'll go. The rooms at both are nice for hotel standards. And I don't mind playing a little blackjack at either spot... until I need to move along.
