  • Monte Carlo and Tropicana.

Planning a mini Las Vegas invation on 01/27/10 - 30th with my Wife and 10 other friends. Looking for some info on Monte Carlo and Tropicana Casino's Hotels. Been seeing some good offers but have not stayed at either place.

If anyone has some info of these places or other comparible 3-4 star establishments, please share.

    Thanks,
    Mario

Monte Carlo's nicer, Tropicana's generally cheaper. I used to always stay at the Trop so I could spend more money partying. It's undergoing renovations now though which I hear making the place look a lot better.

Trop is looking pretty awesome. Has a Miami feel/look to it. Not all of the towers have been renovated, but if you get a renovated room...you won't regret it. Would have to say its the best bang for the buck out there.

i love the renovated rooms at TI (Treasure Island) and you can usually get a great deal on them. sometimes you can get 2 nights with a 3rd free. their site is always having deals. only stayed at Tropicana once and that was back in 2007 so a LOT has changed since then.

Thanks for info guys! I've got my eye's open for specials on both places. So far same time frame, Monte Carlo has best deal, $230.00 per Deluxe Room for 3 days to $299.00 for Tropicana. Trop has newer rooms, but has construction, and Monte Carlo is a 4 Diamond Rated property, but unless they trow in the Diamonds, may not mean much after all is said is done. I want to pick the right place, because if it's not a hit, it's mud in my face, since all in my party are depending on my Vegas expertise, ok I may have said I know all about Vegas :-)
So lets keep the discussion open, and I'll be planning the rest of the trip in the months to come, Show, Clubs and even the all talked about Bottle Service .... I'm sure I'll have one good trip report when I'm trough it all. I plan on Posting the Planning and the execution, for other "experts" to follow or not in the future ...

          Thanks,
          Mario AKA "Mr Vegas"
(ok to my group of friends at least)

I wouldn't stress too much on where to stay. The vegas experience lies more in the other stuff you're planning - clubs, restaurants, partying ,etc. You can experience most of what Wynn and Encore have to offer just by hanging out there all day.

Who cares where you stay, all you need is a place to crash for a power nap, shower, and to change. I just came back from a trip to Vegas, in the 3nights I stayed there, I maybe got 6hrs of sleep at most, and maybe was inside my room total of 3hrs, so I spent a combined 9hrs in my room. Book the cheapest deal you get and go have a blast!!!!!

                +1

Totally agree. Don't get me wrong, I would love to stay at the Wynn/Encore/Bellagio, etc., but I can find 100's of other things to do with that cash in Vegas than spend it on a room that I will rarely be in.

The Tropicana rooms are better, but Monte Carlo has a better location. But I mean if you're looking to save some money, why not book one of the Harrah's properties.

Ballys or Flamingo are both great hotels right in the middle of the strip, can get upgraded rooms with the $20 front desk tip trick, and no resort fees! Best of all they're all 30% off right now.

You can check out the deal at http://www.mycheapvegas.com

                  Cheers!

Thanks everyone for advice. So far the best deal is with Monte Carlo, including Resort Fee, it's $270.00 for 3 days. I checked out The Harrah's offer, and I could save a bit by staying at Imperial Pallace or Harrah's but from what I've heard and seen, I wouldn't be happy there.

Not a big fan of the "resort fee". But I am making sure that when added back in, the price is still good. Otherwise you get a price shock at checkin.
                    Thanks,
                    Mario

Well, the Harrah's is actually a semi-party hotel. Also, the location is right in the middle of the strip, where all the action is. Either way, I'm sure you'll have good time and not spend tons of time in your room.
