New Years and MAY.O.D 2011

I know we have the other thread for it, but shopping around for NYE Event locations and just wanted to get updated feedback on the whole thing.

Two Questions:

1) Currently talking with Gold at Aria about doing something similar to Cathouse last year. They are pushing for us to take over Deuce Lounge and have it basically be just us. Thoughts? Would you be interested in this or would you rather go somewhere else?

2) How soon will everyone want to book their hotels for the 2011 May Invasion? We can start working on Rumor here pretty quick if everyone wants to start making their reservations soon.

1. Last year was awesome. I won't be able to make it this year, but here's my 2 cents: I think people would enjoy a place where there are other people besides AODers. Cathouse was good in that although we had a good size group taking over a prime section, most of the club was still outsiders.

2. There will be people that are ready to book anytime they find a great deal. That being said, lots of AODers go with the flow and flip flop around their decisions, so the majority likely won't book til Jan-March

1. I'd like to have a nice area for AOD'ers but also some outsiders to mingle with and more importantly, corrupt and recruit!

2. I know people are ready to pull the trigger for the hotel, we/they are just waiting to hear where everyone else is staying so we can invade the hotel and all be together. (thanks for setting this all up btw)

2. I doubt I'll be able to commit to May until Jan/Feb at the earliest. Rumor looks pretty sweet, but like Hug says, I'm not entirely convinced about off-strip. I'll most likely go where everyone else goes though.

Regarding cabs from the Rumor area.... Sometimes the cab fare is cheaper staying off strip. I've been at the HRH (across the street from the Rumor) for 4 of this year's trips and I've noticed it's much quicker, and therefore cheaper to get almost anywhere in a cab. Being off strip, you take the back roads everywhere instead of sitting in strip traffic. I remember cab fare being around $9 to get to Venetian/Wynn/Encore. Plus, during MayVasion, there are always people going the same places you are and you can just split the fare. Or cram 30 people into a Hummer limo...whichever you prefer.

Whenever we all book together, we're gonna be saving money, its really not that far off strip, just like us all staying at HRH.

I haven't heard much about rumor. Is it a really nice spot? Or is it really good value?
