dunno, but carnival court had a band playing both times I've been.

If you're looking for indie or local acts, your best bet would be going off strip. Most on-strip stuff are either big acts (albeit fading) and tribute bands [you may find indie acts at the Revolution Lounge or maybe the House of Blues, but might be far and dew between]. Maybe Beauty Bar?

Ballys has a lounge, I think it's called the Indigo Lounge, always has a band playing there, but it's usually a cover band playing top 40 stuff. On the bright side, the Tequila Bar is right next to it.

I think you would need to go to Town Square/whatever its called or maybe Downtown. Talk to some locals or cabbies, they will point you in the right direction.
