  • checking in at The Mirage

    Hey guys, quick question.

While i'm checking in at The Mirage, would it be appropriate for me to ask the person behind the counter, if I could get a free room upgrade?

  • #2
You could always ask... the worst that could happen is that you get sorta turned down... The best that could happen is that you get a free upgrade I have asked at harrahs and have gotten a little up grade... at the mirage i didnt get much by just asking... however im going to try the $20 tip trick the next time im out...

here's some info on the success rate of the $20 tip at the mirage... they were talking about this on some of the other posts.

    good luck again indian dude

And even if he says no, then try to negotiate some other sort of extras [late check out; JET passes; champagne, etc]. The hotels are happy to have you stay there, so no problem trying to squeeze them for a little more than just the basic.

              Memorial Day Weekend

Do you think the odds are better or worse on Memorial Day weekend? We will be checking in at the Mirage at about 5 - 6.

unfortunately I think everything is more difficult on a holiday weekend, but let us know how you make out.

Worked at the Mirage...slipped her the I.D. Sandwich and got a sweet strip view room overlooking the volcano.

Didn't work at Mandalay Bay though. The lady told us that all the suites were way overbooked, but she was nice enough to give us the 20 back.

Hey SmoothBaller... were you booked for just a deluxe room and got hooked up with a suite with a volcano view? or was it just another deluxe room with volcano view?

Glad you got something out of your sandwich deal

if I read it correctly he got a "sweet" strip view room, which is the norm for a traditional "upgrade"

I am pretty sure it was just a normal room with a better view b/c it wasnt that big but it was really nice, she called somewhere and asked for a room relaease and all that and it could have all been a show and we already had the room and she wanted to keep the tip but who cares its just $20 right... the floor was a pretty comfy considering I slept there for a bit one night
