  • More nightlife shakeup - Palms vs. N9NE lawsuits

It started out as a business dispute over Andy Belmonti allegedly being on the clock at Palms while working to get N9NE's wine bar at Wynn off the ground, but now it is blowing up and Maloof and Morton are going head-to-head, bringing up all kinds of crazy s**t. Some pretty wild accusations are being made on both sides - including claims that Michael Morton took $35,000 worth of wine from Palms' cellars to serve at a private house party, and that Michael Fuller personally escorted underage girls into Palms' venues.

Could this lead to Palms kicking N9NE out of the building entirely?

Not quite - I'm more interested in discussing what this stuff means from a business perspective and how it affects operations of the specific venues and the industry in general, I couldn't care less about the personal lives of the people involved.

You really think Palms would really kick out N9NE?

Given all the other formerly "unthinkable" changes that have happened in Vegas over the past couple years and especially in nightlife just in the last 3 months, at this point I wouldn't rule out any possibility.

From the Sun article - Campbell is Palms' attorney:
Campbell added that Maloof could have exercised a "nuclear option" of defaulting the N9NE Group on its Palms leases and terminating its involvement in the Palms' venues, but chose not to because he does not want to punish N9NE investors.

Saying N9NE Group has been "caught red handed engaging in gross malfeasance and in violation of" fiduciary duties, Campbell went on to say this is not the first time "they have engaged in such reprehensible actions."

at what point is the headache not worth it?

assuming n9ne owns the ghostbar and moon names, while their stewardship
has overseen great success, once the novelty wears off, those names mean a great deal less.

i know it's somewhat painting with a broad brush, and i can't speak for the restaurants, but it seems the rooftop spaces at the top of the 2 towers is where the real value lies. assuming they keep them fresh and bring in solid dj talent, palms could call them George's and Gavin's respectively and still bring in the same crowds.

Definitely staying out of this one as I work with both sides, but it is worth pointing out that Michael Fuller resigned from N9NE Group earlier this year and now works with AMG. That RJ article implies he is still acting as VP.

Hopefully everyone will find common ground...

As basic and simple as the "la cave" idea sounds it's pure brilliance. F'in love it. and for it to be at the 5 star Wynn , bravo.

I will be checking it out.
