Bartender popping his Vegas cherry next week...

I am blessed with two jobs but time flies! I've got a week (really just a few hours of free time) left to get some guestlist thing going or whatever....ok, heres the rub:

I've been a bartender for 16 years, I'm well versed in the Shreveport, Dallas-area club scene. No problems there. But I know absolutely no-one in Vegas (well one most excellent bartender, but he's on vacation in Japan right now). My wife and I are planning on hitting the clubs and partying for our 8th anniversary, but I'm really not trying to spend it in line or getting all my party money taken by the door guy and the cover cashier. Thats for all those who are not "in the know".

Sorry, I've been up for 20 hours....please forgive if I come accross a rude/cross/arrogant, my brain is shutting down.

I'm trying to hit Tao thurs after the 9:30 KA show and I'm hoping for Tryst, Blush, XS, Pure, Ghostbar and whatever else you Vegas pros think I can reasonably squeeze in the evenings of Oct 21-23.

I really need some help here, my wife is not so much into the clubs so this part of the trip is truly for me. The drinking will be light, besides I can't afford Vegas bottle prices of what I drink.

Also, I carry my weight where I can. I've got thousands of regulars with old oil & gas/rancher money who love being cool and dropping the big cash. I really want to be able to share some killer Vegas stories with them.

Please point me (at least) in the right direction. Thanks y'all!

Last year, I did the late Ka show followed by bottle service at Tao.
1)Ka is a great show to take the wife to. Get there a little early for the preshow.
2)You will get out about 10:05-10:15 (I think) with a theater of people flooding the massive MGM casino (it's like 4 football fields?) and many of them want cabs. When we got out of Ka there must've been 200 people in the cab line. We opted for a limo direct (and no waiting) to the Venetian ($65 one way-but there was five of us).
3) By the time the limo got us to the Venetian it was about 10:45 and the line was huge. We were supposed to be there earlier but couldn't due to the show. Since you're not doing bottles I would recommendthe option of eating dinner and getting a stamp that allows faster entry into the club for no charge. Ideally what I would recommend is to see the earlier show, then go to Tao to eat dinner, get a stamp and go on up. It is a great club though and definitely worth visiting.

Pure was pretty cool overall, and Tryst is magnificent. I'll let others chime in on the other clubs as I haven't been. I would rate Tryst and Tao as must do's.

I've read simular, thanks for the additional detail, I will do that.

I've also been reading about these Hosts getting you in and ditching the line, but I think I've read myself in a circle and don't "get it".

So you're showing appreciation to the Host (about how much? Let's say Pure and XS) AND paying cover (ok, I guess) AND there's the possible nessesity of bottle service? Ok, maybe for the top rated club in the U.S. (Pure). So who do I contact and how?

Also, I've read about everything from iPhone apps to wristbands that do the same thing for a lot less? Now I'm really confused. Not being connected and grouped in with the rest of the heard really sucks. Is this what club life is really like for everyone else? (Lol)

What I would do is Thurs: Tao, Friday: Blush or Tryst and Sat: XS or Tryst. Only way to get passed the line is by greasing the host. Also, what you can do is when you contact the host, make sure to put your wife on the hosts Guestlist. All the host info is listed on the main page or in the host appreciation thread.

I was purposely being non biased about pure. Pure is not the #1 club in the world or Vegas. It's worth checking out but it's been described here as being tier 2 and I think that fits. Edit: as you can see vladiksf doesn't even list pure.

I don't think Pure is the right place to be on a Friday or Sat night. It's more of a spot to go to on Tuesday for it's industry night.
